Re: Tips
So...you did something that someone else found inappropriate, someone submitted a complaint that made its way to the dean's office, you took over-aggressive action to prove your innocence, no formal action was taken but you pissed everyone off in the process including the office and the person who complained, and you're worried that the person who complained in the first place will try to ruin your life by telling law schools?
Is my (admittedly pretty vague) framework fairly accurate?

Re: Do law school admissions' offices receive tips on applicants
Yes, it's quite simple. All they have to do is a simple backtrace and bam, you're in a world of trouble with the cyber police.yoshikart wrote:Why? B/c LS admissions people can identify you?sinfiery wrote:I hope you're using a proxy OP.

As an aside to this, adcoms at my school had no problem putting two and two together to figure out who I am IRLsinfiery wrote:Yes, it's quite simple. Re: Tips
No. Deans office and random classmate are two separate worries. Random classmate never submitted a complaint. Why the dean's office may not like me has nothing to do with a complaint.oaken wrote:So...you did something that someone else found inappropriate, someone submitted a complaint that made its way to the dean's office, you took over-aggressive action to prove your innocence, no formal action was taken but you pissed everyone off in the process including the office and the person who complained, and you're worried that the person who complained in the first place will try to ruin your life by telling law schools?

But why?
And dingbat and sinfiery: how do LS offices put two and two together? What's 2 and 2? Do they bother w/ backtracing IP addresses, or just what they see from someone's posts?

Re: Tips
Depends on the school and the posts.
In my case, I'm a special snowflake and the school monitors this board more than most.
For most posters they won't care, but when you start spouting out conspiracyscy theories, they might start digging
