There is a large difference between the resume you give an employer and the resume you do for law school: the prospect of an interview. With a professional resume you are shooting to get yourself in the door to conduct an interview where you can talk more about what you've done and clarify any points in your resume. With your application to law school they are stamping either accepted, rejected, or waitlisted on that bad boy. You have to both catch their interest and be rather informative in the resume to law school. At the same time you would expect a professional in your field to know exactly what it is that you would have done in certain jobs and that they might even know about the companies that you work for.
