NU. Sub-3.0, current 169 LSAT (retaking in Oct), have WE. I'm fully aware they have a strict LSAT floor of 17X, but I underperformed on the June LSAT so I'm hoping that by the time I apply I'll be a decent candidate for their ED program.

Just realized Penn's GPA median went up to 3.85 this year, so it and UVA now share medians. Poop. No ED there I guess.

I don't want to give you too much hope, but with a 3.82 and your LSAT I really wouldn't think UVA is a huge stretch. I've been told over a 3.8 and ED puts you in a good position there.

Didn't read the rest of the thread but 3.85 is the magic number it seems. If OP's willing to pay sticker, ED-ing is probably a good idea. Mostly because their turn-around time is fast enough to allow OP time to ED somewhere else if that fails. To OP, if you can stand Cornell, I'd apply EA there as well, it's non-binding and the application becomes available around August 17th (going by last year).

I'll definitely be applying to Cornell EA, but I just hope I don't get screwed with a ridiculously slow decision like some people were last year. I honestly wouldn't mind going to Cornell, but it's just not at the top of my list at the moment (though that could change). Think there's any chance I could snag a small scholly? I'm at one median (168) and I think near their 75th percentile GPA.

You could, anything's possible. You can also bargain for money, some have been successful others have not. Since the EA is non-binding, you'd have more leeway on paper. The problem with ED is that schools do not have any incentive to throw money at you for obvious reasons. Some schools say ED-ing doesn't affect your chances of scholarship and that is true for some schools. For others, you're basically looking at sticker. People have received scholarships while ED-ing so it's possible. You're likely not going to get a fast response with Cornell's EA but it's non-binding so it shouldn't matter and you can refuse to go there if you don't like the terms and if you're unsuccessful at getting a small scholly through bargaining. To bargain, it helps to have money elsewhere (especially from a relatively comparable school). The stuff changes from year to year so you never know. The TLS consensus is that being at or above one median is generally good for ED/EA purposes. Hell, I think you have a pretty good chance but I could be wrong.

PS: LSP gives you a straight admit at Cornell for what it's worth but LSP is pretty old.

168 is a sweet spot for WUSTL (or whatever the initials are)...you'll likely get a lot of money just for bargaining purposes, you don't have to actually go there.

They have this really weird obsession with 3.85. Apply very early. Who knows, things may be different this year. Low 3.8x + 168 is nothing to be ashamed of, really.

Do you have work experience? If so and you like NU, it might be worth an ED.

Are you still in undergrad? If so, bringing that GPA to 3.0 could do wonders but certain schools might bite as is. 178 is a nice number.Good luck.

UVA offered me a fee waiver so im going to ED on September first, and when that fails i will be submitting a second ED to Michigan

Unfortunately, I do not have any WE (so NU is out) and I know that most of T14 has a hard floor of 3.0. Hopefully an ED will push me over the WL along with my addendum.

i'm torn between applying ED to nyu or columbia (don't mind paying sticker price for either). i feel like i have a slightly better chance at nyu ED but would like to give columbia a try. i'm just afraid of applying ED to columbia and getting waitlisted (maybe rejected) at both. opinions anyone?

Considering an ED but I know my BF who is financially supporting me right now would rather me go to Hastings or Davis so I am not too sure yet. He says he would go anywhere with me but I know he would much rather stay local so he can keep his job :/

I seriously considered doing BU but they required me to take the TOEFL because I didn't do my undergrad in the states. It was the only school to do so, and I guess I could have applied for a waiver... but yeah. didn't get around to doing that. oh well. Good luck to you though!
