Mine told me that law school wasn't realistic with my 2.6. I stopped using her and got shittier grades to spite her ( ) and gained admission with a 2.33.

Out of curiosity, what tier did you get into, how'd you do on the LSAT, and are you URM? A non-URM friend of mine got screwed by LSAC recalculation and now has something like a 2.7.

In to some T1s (30-35 and 40-50 range), attending a school ranked in the 50s. Scored 166 initially (got into my current school and a T1 with that score) and followed it up with a 173. I'm not a minority.

I did work during college, so perhaps this mitigated the effect of my low GPA at least slightly.

Sweet, thanks. That's good to hear. He has 4 years WE under his belt and is test scoring in the mid-upper 60s, so that gives some hope.

I think if you can get in the high 160s or better, law school becomes a decent move regardless of your GPA as you clearly have an aptitude for many of the intangibles you'll need in law school so you will have a decent chance to do well. Yes, it's true you can't go to a top 14, but because the LSAT is weighted more heavily for law school admissions than the GMAT and GRE are, what other field is a 2.33 gonna set you up in? And if you expect to get a good job with just a bachelors, and can't invent anything, you're dreaming.

I've actually had mine as a professor for 2 classes. She herself didn't go to law school. That sort of seems like it would be necessary for advising others on how to get into law school, does it not?

Edit: And yes, I plan on informing her of whatever schools I get into (even if I don't go). At my undergrad, going to TTT is an accomplishment, and I'd like her to know that I end up getting into wherever (hopefully well above TTT), no thanks to her.
