florida coastal has another category in addition to accept, waitlist, and ding its the take these courses pass, and we will allow you to pay ticket even if you scored 120 on your lsats and had legal issues in your background. now thats a scam. this effectively dilutes the already overpopulated pool of job seekers.

He didn't applly to Cooley for several reasons:

First they are renown for horrible grading. This would probably prevent any transfers.

Secondly, he wants to work in Florida. Thus, attending a Florida Law School is probably the better option

Third, he would hate the climate in Michigan.

Fourth, Cooley is actually more expensive, not counting the scholarship, not to mention that he probably wouldn't get much of a scholarship. Thus, if he loses the scholarship,which seems likely based on their grading policy, he might have to pay more than that of other schools.

Believe me , this was well thought out.

If he has a guaranteed job at graduation, which TaxGuy says he does, then TCR is not retake-wait-a-year, its get your ass through school fast and start making money. Your advice is solid for the average applicant but not this particular applicant. If FC is the best school he can get into to start next fall, then that's all there is to it.

I understand for profits, thank you. Believe me, although he will have a guaranteed job regardless of which law school he attends, I am hoping he will have other options besides Florida Coastal.

For what it's worth, I advised my son to retake the LSAT. He ignored both my advice and the advice of well-known law school professor friend. My son felt that he did his best in studying for the exam and wouldn't do much better. Since he has never done well on a standarized admission test in his life, he might be right too.

I am also aware of the blog posted above. I am quite unhappy that this maybe his only choice. However, as I said, he is pretty guaranteed a job due to his strong networking. He got someone in Florida to really take a liking to him. I guess if his grades are deplorable, it might not be as guaranteed as he thinks. We shall see. However, to his credit, he has made a LOT of connections. This is why a lot of advice given me about him was irrelevant.
