Perhaps the school that is "teetering" can't afford to take chances with the LSAT make-up of its incoming class, while the school that it comfortably in its "zone" has more leeway to choose holistically.

Ok, I want to create this thread because it just hit me. A top 40 school waitlisted me (given it is not an acceptance but hey) and a school that is teetering on being a TTT (by like 2 places) flat out denied me. Hurnh?

If you were surprised by a rejection because you were already accepted at a much better school- please list here. You don't neccesarily have to out the school, but it is more fun if you do. (At least the reject school)

This seems like as good a place as any to rub it in the face of the schools that didn't take me during my first application cycle. Willamette University, University of Oregon, and Lewis & Clark all waitlisted me when I had a 3.0/164, and not one ever made an offer.

Of course, I'm glad they didn't, because I shudder to think that I would have attended any of those schools at sticker price, considering my current career goals. I resolved to retake the LSAT and aim higher this cycle, and this time I have already been accepted in to WUSTL, as well as Seattle University with a 15k/yr scholarship.

I didn't even apply to any of those first 3 schools this time around.

Yeah, I know that I had a 164 then and I have a 175 now, so it is different this cycle. But I'm still essentially the same person that I was before. It feels good to redeem myself after that disappointing first cycle. I thought about re-applying to those schools just to show them that they should have taken me when they had the chance, but that seemed too petty and not worth the $12 even with a fee waiver.

More than anything I think I'd like to do this to Willamette just because I think it was absurd of them not to admit me the first time. Their median LSAT is like 156 with a 75th percentile of 158. I still can't believe they waitlisted me.

But.. you're at the 25th percentile for TTT schools. That means you're likely even worse at T2.
