oh, i am on hold -- not on waitlist...although i've never been put on a waitlist before so they might be the same. if i ran a school, i wouldn't use the word waitlist...seems elitist so they're prob the same.

I'm pretty sure a hold is different than a waitlist. Did you say you were held until a certain date? I think it means they are holding off on a decision on your app and will look at it again on that date or something....

idk that seems kind of dumb. why does this have to be like a courtship, and the schools have to be like girls. if ur too good looking, they make u prove u love them? that seems ridiculous.

this is interesting psychology into a guys mind. i cannot imagine thinking that if a guy was really attractive he would have to prove he loved me lol

i would only attend for a full scholly + stipend, but this seems cocky. if a girl told me she'd only date me if i took her for steak, id blow her off.

im not a stud. if ur straight, handsome and intelligent, it isn't that hard. being sharper witted than the girl never hurts.

LOCI (Letter of Continued Interest). People send them all the time when they've been held/waitlisted etc. Search the forums for more info.

They may ask that you write a letter of continued interest. ITs basically a short essay, explaining why you want to go. If you dont want to get dinged, then dont bring up scholarship. To make it easier, just write down sweet nothings about the school, and how you and the school are a right fit for each other. Instead of buying the school a drink, e-mail it in. Then once you get your acceptance, go find another school to get into. Dont tell this school about it, until you get some good numbers. Then compare numbers, see which one makes your head spin better, and go with that one

If that's true, was there anything in your app/anything you said to the school that might offend them? Demanding a scholarship/insulting their standing would justify a spite ding. Either that or just blatantly not caring about the app.

Well...yeah. The idea that they aren't constantly trying to improve their school might be insulting. Also given their rank, a few positions don't matter much in regards to career prospects. One more person hired at OCS would do more. Definitely don't send them an apology saying you were partially kidding, because "partially" means you meant it, and the kidding thing would only make sense if you sent law schools random flippant emails.
