This is true. http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/?page_id=173 And this explains why it's not always accurate. LSN participants self-report; if you read enough profiles, you'll see that, often, the numbers are deliberately reported inaccurately to avoid being outed to adcomms (who, some of them admit, put some time and effort into figuring out who's who on these sites). I've seen notations such as "real #'s disclosed after my cycle is complete." So while LSP can be a fun toy, a great motivator, and a pretty good prediction tool, don't take it as gospel.

One thing that seems fairly certain from anecdotal accounts on this board is that is that the earlier one applies, the more likely LSP will be close to accurate.
I can speak to the accuracy of the converse (or inverse, or something) of that last statement -- I applied about a week before most deadlines, and wound up with an outright acceptance to only one school (NYU) in the T14 with a 3.8/172, waitlisted at a shit ton more from Harvard to Gtown (Gtown also eventually admitted me), and straight rejected from Berk, Mich and Stanford. Applying late: it's a bad idea.

He said he applied a week before most deadlines (late Jan/early Feb?), so that is definitely late.

From what I've read, complete before halloween = early = small boost, after NY = late = hurts chances

Nope. Didn't have any. Also I'm a non-URM non-splitter.

That is very encouraging considering how extra-competitive law schools were this past cycle!
