letters cannot be from family members. ONly people who know you in a professional/ academic way can write a letter for you. If you share genetic information with the person, then you cant have that person write you one

Sorry OP, even if you worked for mom's business your entire life, she cannot write you a letter. If they find out, you could be in a world of trouble.
im not really confused but thanks 4 actually taking me seriously i am not a flam.

okay i guess my mom cant write it for me (although I still may just have her do it cuz no one would ever find out) but what about if i asked a sorority sister? we dont technically share blood but i kind of feel like we do in a legal sense

ty for ur help

Really? common... total flame!

Listen, if I just put some ink on my dogs paw and get her to walk accross the page, can she sign my LOR? I mean, she's not related to me by blood?

What is the big deal? My LORs were from my cat, my best friend, and some homeless guy (don't worry, I paid him five bucks). All the adcomms care about are your numbers anyway, so I say go for it OP. It will save you time.

How much better would applications be if your parents really did have to write you a LoR? Sounds like a goldmine of lolz to me.
