OP, retake if you really want BU Law.

That was the weakest attempt at snobbery. That is like correcting someone for saying Brooklyn Law is in New York City.

OP, I think you should apply with your numbers, then, if you get in, write, direct, and star in a movie with a Rudy-esque theme. That could give you a great soft, that you can then use to transfer to a higher-ranked school, come and post a similar question about that's school's application, have your dreams mocked again, and then turn into another movie. (then repeat)

To answer your question -- definitely write the essay. Chances are, it can't hurt you, and perhaps make up for your less-than stellar credentials.
