As to OP, it those really are your stats, you should be fine. I had just a year gap in my resume (only one app asked why and I simply put I was taking time off to focus on my MA and the comprehensive exam) Granted that doesn't work for you but you are apparently smart so you should be able to figure out how to spin it in a positive light I'm sure.

I could get a 179 too if that's all I did for three years.

Yes. That was pretty dumb question.

I am 32 (so I'm not just a young kid out of undergrad)...I have a Masters in Finance from Princeton. I have A LOT of investment income (hence, why I left my job 3 years ago and the reason I don't need to work). Could I put down that I have been mananging my investments (as well as friends and families investment portfolios)? I have basically made that my full-time job over the last 3 years and haven't done much else.

Please only respond to this with mature answers--and no, I am not a troll. I just need to figure out what to list this on my resume as. You also may wonder why I am headed toward a law degree? Truth is, I was burned out with my Finance career and want to pursue something else.

If you wanna whip it out lets whip it out, what is your LSAT?
Which form of mechanics did you find most interesting to study.

Which LSAT did you take, and which problems did you miss.

Edit - after the last post, I'm not sure. Desert Fox is just acting like himself which is eerily familiar to the way any Ivy League douchebag would act although I'm pretty sure he didn't attend an Ivy for UG. Basically you're getting a lot of nasty responses because of the original title of the thred, if you want to get any useful information here, try to be a little less pretentious.

I have to concede, you bested me here. But your attempt on the other thread was weak. You got greedy.

If you question is serious, just say you were a self employed fund manager. That makes it sound better than, Xbox, daytradering, and beating off.

Your loss.

UIUC EE 2.8/ 176 on Sept09

UPenn for physics? If you could get into UPenn you could have gone to a better school for that subject. Like UIUC!

And the 2.8 can be explained by Xbox and JOing.

Keeping that 3.9 at Wharton before switching is pretty impressive in and of itself.

You never said which mechanics you like. I was hoping it be Lagrangian.

He is serious. HYP stand on their own, and Penn State, Cornell and Brown just leach off their prestige.

One of the best books I've read on law school admissions is "The Ivey Guide to Law School Admissions" by Anna Ivey, former Dean of Admissions at Chicago, I think. There is an excellent section on resumes where she gives you example before and after resumes. She focuses on format and content for people with lots of work experience, as well as those with not so much.

You clearly have been doing a lot of significant work and that can and should be conveyed on your resume.

You may also want to write an addendum to your application to further explain your choice to work for yourself for the past three years.

This thread was hilarious, but I went to a public school, so take my input with a grain of salt.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
