Snagged waivers from OCU and Hamline! (
)
My request got rejected by Emory. Surprising, considering my GPA is >75% and my LSAT is 2 points below the "166 wall."

Hidden Fee wavier at LSU
What does this mean?
"The application fee is waived due to an individual application fee waiver."
First time I see that instead of the normal CRS one.

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
No, it just shows up on some of them. I've had it too. It's just an "individual application" waiver. Maybe the school did the process differently or something, but no big deal. Still pays for your app.doug_7506 wrote:neither, I did apply their last year. Maybe thats it?Hannibal wrote:Did you ask for one? Or maybe meet an LSU rep?doug_7506 wrote:Hidden Fee wavier at LSU

Don't feel too bad. With Peace Corps (which got me like 15 waivers by itself) and a 3.85/170 Emory still rejected my request for a fee waiver.atresia wrote: My request got rejected by Emory. Surprising, considering my GPA is >75% and my LSAT is 2 points below the "166 wall."

Happy Monday, everyone. You may now resume waiting on Chicago, Columbia and Cornell waivers.
EDIT: OMG, just checked and I have a hidden Columbia CRS waiver. 174 / 3.5x here.

I obviously jinxed myself with my snarky "letter" the other day. What they don't realize is how badly I want to go back to NYC.

Why am I receiving so few waivers? 166, 3.5 GPA
-U of Minnesota
-Santa Clara
-Cooley
-U of Richmond
I would be less alarmed if I had received none so far (at least then I could chalk it up to some sort of e-mail error or to me not having the right options selected on LSAC), but to just receive just a few seems ridiculous.

Amazing. There's a single digit that's different between those numbers and mine, and it's the least important one. Let this be a lesson unto all of you, that karma very truly is a bitch.lzyovrachievr wrote:Ahhhh! Finally Columbia waiver.

fee waiver to columbia....guess i'm there to be a reject for the rankings. 170/3.5x non-urm. no shot, i figure. but what's $12 for a dream? a couple of coors lights or a 1% chance at a dream school.

I :shock:ed when I saw the email. I don't think I will apply (no shot+little interest) but the fee waiver makes me want to.

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
Pitt came yesterday...
And I realized that I didn't really read the Wisconsin letter. Since all the other mailings I got (aside from the viewbooks I requested) had fee waivers in them, I just assumed there was one in there. I checked again...there wasn't.
Sorry about that. My bad...
I wasn't going to apply there anyhow.

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
Is Emory only giving out a bare handful of fee waivers or what (and if so, to who?)? Despite within a few hours of the school and having very strong numbers by almost any standard, they 100% denied my request for a fee waiver. Emory is the only law school that I plan(ned) on applying to that didn't grant me a fee waiver.Blindc1rca wrote:Don't feel too bad. Does anyone know what's up with Emory's fee waiver policy?

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
Emory was really weird. They responded to my request by asking me for documentation of my LSAT score and a pdf of my transcript with my GPA. Haven't heard back since they requested that. My numbers aren't super impressive either: 167/3.8.Dave Davely wrote:Is Emory only giving out a bare handful of fee waivers or what (and if so, to who?)?
