To be honest, I didn't list my GPA in my e-mail and I still had a fair amount of success.vsg211 wrote:For those who e-mailed schools asking for fee waivers, you listed your GPA and LSAT score, right? (I know this seems like a dumb question but just in case...)

lucky that means you got a high lsat score
I solicited GULC and they rejected my request outright, saying "Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a merit-based fee waiver, but hope that you will still decide to apply to Georgetown."
Does that mean my score is too low to apply? I want to save the $ if no chance. thoughts please.

I got the same email but I'm applying PT and my numbers are right in line with their admits, so I wouldn't say it's a definite decline.jocelyne wrote:lucky that means you got a high lsat score![]()

There are other people here, Helm for one, who got that email even though their numbers are above Gtown's medians, etc. so I dont think it is a decline.hypermeganet wrote:I got the same email but I'm applying PT and my numbers are right in line with their admits, so I wouldn't say it's a definite decline.jocelyne wrote:lucky that means you got a high lsat score![]()

Just got a snail mail fee waiver from BU. I personally don't understand snail mail fee waivers, but I'll take it.

I think earlier in this thread, people were discussing how hard it was to solicit a merit-based waiver from Georgetown.0L Hoping for 1 wrote:There are other people here, Helm for one, who got that email even though their numbers are above Gtown's medians, etc. so I dont think it is a decline.hypermeganet wrote:I got the same email but I'm applying PT and my numbers are right in line with their admits, so I wouldn't say it's a definite decline.jocelyne wrote:lucky that means you got a high lsat score![]()

Did anyone get a fee waiver from Cornell? I'd like to apply there, but I don't think it's worth an $80 app fee.

Yeah it's a sucky fee waiver though. You have to pay the $80, send in your copy of the mailed fee waiver, and then wait a few weeks for a refund. It's lame.JollyGreenGiant wrote:Did anyone get a fee waiver from Cornell? I'd like to apply there, but I don't think it's worth an $80 app fee.

Hah, it's like one of those mail-in refund deals where they're counting on the customer to forget / not give enough of a shit to deal with it.GeePee wrote:Yeah it's a sucky fee waiver though. Noticed a hidden NYU waiver. It must have come in yesterday or today. Nothing from Columbia or Chicago.

I'm longing for that waiver. No dice yet though. Funnily enough, I got Columbia last week. Haven't checked for Chicago. The Dan wrote:Noticed a hidden NYU waiver. It must have come in yesterday or today. Nothing from Columbia or Chicago.

NOOOOICE!! I got the hidden NYU waiver as well.

I'm sure this is a dumb question that has been answered many times in many places, but what is a hidden fee waiver? I've gotten a ton of fee waivers but they've all been via email. Is there someplace else I should be looking?JollyGreenGiant wrote:NOOOOICE!! I got the hidden NYU waiver as well.

Pretend to fill out the application. Click Submit. Click Preview. Then click Continue.politik wrote:I'm sure this is a dumb question that has been answered many times in many places, but what is a hidden fee waiver? STOP here. If it says you still owe $75 (or whatever the amount) then you don't have the hidden fee waiver.
This doesn't actually submit the app. You'd still have a couple steps to go. Just hit "Return to Application" and you'll be fine.

Eww so you have to fill out the application first though eh? Guess I'll try it with the schools I was going to apply to anyway.
