Can I ask the stats of everyone who got UChicago? It's the only T14 I haven't gotten that gives them out...

All I know is that if USC doesn't step up soon (they responded to my blanket waiver request with the standard "CRS are automatic and you'll probably get one next week"; this was two weeks ago), they can kiss my application goodbye. I'm starting to doubt there's any point in applying to the #18 school while I'm already hitting the t14 and am a virtual shoo-in at UCLA.

Can I just take this moment to say how amazing fee waivers are? Two months ago, I had never heard of the term. I had my application list ballooned up to 18-20 schools for the sake of casting a wide net. I figured, what's the difference between spending $1000 on applications and $1500 in the grand scheme of things?

Now with waivers and a bit more careful discrimination on my part (i.e. Stanford and Berkeley didn't waive, but my GPA keeps me out of those schools anyway; save the $150), I'm going to get out for less than $300 most likely, while still applying to 13-15 schools.

Got the NYU hidden waiver. Don't remember if I had Chicago (already submitted).

I also got UT today via email, same as others.

W&L invite to Law Preview day. Includes a free night at local hotel. Dang, I wasn't interested before, but a night on the house at a hotel in Lexington (I like nature, hiking, and free hotels)? Might rethink it.

Got it too: This seems like a sweet deal! It is too bad they only gave 2.5 weeks notice; have a trip scheduled to visit a different school that weekend.

Well the guy kind of told me that as long as you made under about 50k then you should be fine in getting one. He did mention it gets harder the longer you wait, but I sent in my tax returns too and was approved.

Is the 50k for a single person or family?

Are apps not sent till paid for?

To search for hidden waivers, can you submit an unfinished app to see the checkout total, and not pay?

Yes, that is how you do it. You press "preview" to activate the "submit" button, and then press it. You'll have your answer.

Getting a fee waiver indicates nothing really about admission chances.

Does NOT getting a fee waiver indicate less of a chance?

I subscribe to the theory that it means absolutely nothing other than that you can afford a few more lattes.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
