All the class size numbers are correct for the c/o 2017, as officially reported by the ABA.
The total is 36,954. It may be a bit more if the official total counts a new unranked law school we missed of something.
The official number for last year was 39,675 (yes, the spreadsheet is off on the c/o 2016 data but spider and I made sure that this year was completely correct).
So it's safe to say there was a decrease and this year is a new low.

As for when there will be an official press release, if any, I have no idea.

This website says that total matriculants for 2013 was 37,940. Maybe "All" on LSAC's calculation doesn't count people who choose not to disclose? I dunno I just wanted to point out the potential discrepancy.

If you go back a page or two, we already had that discussion. The race breakdown doesn't include everyone.

Looks like nationwide 1L enrollment dropped 4.4% from last year (which is a smaller decline than the 8% drop in applicants):

It appears there are now 204 ABA accredited schools, instead of the 202 we have on the spreadsheet. Anyone know what ones we need to add?

ERGH....

In looking at the spreadsheet to figure out how to best add the other two schools, I discovered that the sum functions in the excel spreadsheet hadn't been set up properly. All the school numbers were right, but none of the sum numbers were.

That's been corrected, and I'll get the other two schools added once I figure out what we are missing.

I do believe Savannah Law School is one of the two newly accredited schools (h/t to Dean Spivey for this info on his thread) though I don't quite understand what branch-accreditation means:
Savannah Law School is accredited by the American Bar Association as a branch of the fully accredited Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School.

And the other: Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law (provisional acceptance as of 6 December).

Savannah Law School's 2013 509 links us to its "parent" school's (Atlanta's John Marshall Law School):

Thanks for all that info!

So, I've fixed the sum function and added the two new schools.

Our total ABA number is now 37,963 which puts us within 40 students of the official number (37,924). Clearly we've still got a typo somewhere, but we're getting a lot closer.

ARG. Are you serious?

It makes me question whether they actually counted Savannah themselves. Idk. I'm kind of lost.
Needless to say, I'm confident we're correct when it comes to all the schools TLSers would actually be looking up on the spreadsheet for their own admissions purposes. I think the numbers go awry somewhere in TTT's probably.

I was looking at these number this morning (as I do many morning), especially column R, row 2-13. I would bet that we are going to see a lot more red in that column next year.

I'm so excited.
Do you also predict that a lot of schools will drastically cut class sizes this year in the T14 to try and hold? Last cycle seems like an anomaly with more high scorers applying and corresponding class size increases, and "the market" seems to be correcting itself this cycle.

Just added 2014 admissions data to LST. It's just on the school profiles now. Will update national and state reports soon.

When do you typically start to see the 2014 employment scores? Do they trickle in, or do they all end up on there one day?

They will all be up on one day. Probably end of April at the earliest, more likely middle May. I usually have them up within a few hours of the ABA release of employment data.

Just updated the spreadsheet & added a c/o 2018 page reflecting the new rankings (I put it as the third tab after c/o 2016 since we won't need it until orientation in August at the earliest).

When does Class of '18 info begin to trickle in? August or so? I'm just afraid last year's cycle was drastically different or something and all of this is now moot.

Thanks--this spreadsheet is extremely helpful to me in seeing where to apply.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
