Has anyone done any digging around the site to see when schools sent out fee waivers last year? I would love to send off some applications that open tomorrow but don't really feel like spending the money if I'm going to get a merit waiver later (ie UT). I'm surprised schools haven't finalized this process before their apps open.

Yeah I think out of the T14 the only schools that won't be out tomorrow are HYS, Chicago, and Berkeley. HYSB don't give out merit fee waivers and Chicago supposedly sends them out through CRS in October. IIRC Columbia, NYU, and Penn will be hidden waivers waiting there on LSAC, and Michigan, Virginia, Duke, Cornell, Northwestern, Georgetown have already given out waivers.

Cornell also gave me the CRS message. I hope they'll send out more waivers soon. Vandy and NU also said CRS only.

I have solicited waivers from Mich, UVA, and the artist formerly known as GULC thus far.

For people with solicited Michigan waivers, would anyone mind sharing your numbers or other unique aspects of your background? I tried to solicit one last week and was told they also only do them through CRS, which is clearly not true.

i saw that one person said s/he did, but it seems as if the majority of people are getting emails back saying that cornell only goes through CRS.

I'll try and compile a list of which schools offer reimbursements over the weekend. Most DO NOT though. Do a search yourself if you want to know on TLS: "fee waiver tracker 2011" might help. Michigan might also be hidden for some.

Also, Columbia is no longer offering an in-house need-based waiver. They will only be accepting the LSAC one.

Also can echo the Michigan merit solicit as well as a Duke merit solicit (and got a stern reply regarding PT soliciting...will post later).

Same, though my request for NU was rejected - will be submitting a need-based though. CCNP have not been sent out yet and will possibly be hidden. Please report back tomorrow on any hidden waivers!

If the floor is 173-174 (based on who's responded here), they're setting the bar pretty far above who they're normally happy to accept. I'll just cross my fingers and hope they're more generous with hidden waivers.

UVA unsoliciteds have not been sent out to my knowledge. Someone let me know if that's not the case. All UVA waivers I've seen so far (including my own) have been solicited.

I received one unsolicited from UVA, but I'm fairly certain it may have more to do with my discussion with them at an LSAC forum than with my numbers. I received it about two weeks after the forum and have numbers under both of their medians. Maybe this particular case fits better under the third group on the fee waiver sheet than in the strictly unsolicited area.

This sheet continues to looks better and better, keep up the good work!

Check that: just looked at the sheet again and saw that you changed the headings for the fee waiver page. I'm not sure if this warrants listing them under "unsolicited" as I'm leaning towards the reason for my waiver being my attendance at the forum. Either way, it seemed worth mentioning, seeing as how my numbers are low for them and I never strictly solicited.

Maybe but there's also 0% chance that they have a 173/174 LSAT cut off

Seems more likely to be anything higher than their median (so 170+) AND a 3.0+ GPA. This is an assumption.

I got an unsolicited via snail mail. I'm 170+ but below 173, so I doubt this. I do have a high GPA though so I'm sure that helped.

I didn't get love from Cornell/NU merit-wise either. Got a need-based from Cornell pretty easily though (you just send in a finaid award letter from undergrad and if its large enough you'll get it) and just submitted the NU need-based one. I'm anticipating they'll approve it.

On another note, here's the emails I got from Columbia and Duke today regarding fee waivers and soliciting priority track respectively.

I've set things up with LSAC so that your application fee will be waived automatically when you submit your materials via LSAC. We have to limit the number of people we invite to participate in the Priority Track program (I'm sure you can imagine that it is very time- and labor-intensive!) so I can't guarantee a ten-day turnaround, but we'll do our best to get you a decision as quickly as we can.

So my PT solicit failed but it seems he might still try and review my app quickly when I submit it (I've been emailing back and forth with him).

Added a column in the spreadsheet for reimbursements of fees if you sent them in already (via LSAC) and got a waiver after paying. Most schools, as expected, do not refund fees. A good portion do not have it listed on their website, though.
