UVA sent me a second fee waiver today. Should I expect a check from them when I apply?

Michigan is more a guarantee in response to my fee waiver request...
Thank you for your interest in Michigan Law. We offer merit-based fee waivers through LSAC's Candidate Referral Service. If you are registered for that service and qualify for a waiver, it will appear automatically in your LSAC account within two weeks from the release of your LSAT score. From the information you've provided, it appears you will qualify for a waiver. If you haven’t received a waiver by the middle of November, please feel free to contact us again.

total for the day: W&M, WashU, Duke, Indiana, Minnesota, Temple, U South Carolina, UCLA, Akron, SLU
I emailed GW asking for a waiver, and they emailed me back saying they only gave out need-based waivers. I also emailed Emory, no word from them.
Can't believe I didn't get one from BU. I wasn't planning on applying, but I went there for UG, sheesh. Thought they'd have love for their alums

Received a lot of fee waivers today, which makes me happy since I'm retaking in December. Surprisingly, some of them were for schools that I actually want to attend. The list:

Washington University
University of Virginia
Indiana University

164 here... look at my list above. I think my GPA is what netted me a lot of them, especially Duke/UVA/WashU (~3.9).MissLucky wrote:i am soooooooooooooo not feeling the waiver love. do all of you have 170 or over? all i got was minnesota. 169 here. but i didn't check for hidden waivers.

You should try emailing some schools to ask for them. I emailed 4 safety schools yesterday, and I've already heard back from 3 (W&M actually sent me 2: the CRS one and a personal reply to my email)

Only got a 160, but got waivers from Wash U, UVA, UCLA, W&M, and Indiana. Minnesota did not send me anything, so I e-mailed them and am still waiting to hear back.
I saw the basic request for fee waivers somewhere. Maybe type in fee waiver request in google and something might pop up.

Re: Application Fee Waivers - Fall 2011 Applicants
I received fee waivers to UVA, WashU, BU, and Indiana today. My October 2010 LSAT score was much lower than I had anticipated and as such, I was going to throw in the towel on this cycle. Based on lawschoolpredictor.com, I'd be denied by UVA and BU due to my LSAT and be a weak consider at WashU. Is there any reason to believe these schools would actually have a decent shot of accepting me if I apply (based on the fact that they sent me fee waivers)? I suppose my ultimate question is whether fee waivers are indicative of anything positive (other than a free app) in terms of acceptance (if they are used to boost selectivity measures).
For what it's worth, my GPA is very strong for all these schools and I have the softs of a master's degree, CPA license, and Big 4 public accounting experience. (Yes, I know: LSAT-GPA-LSAT-GPA-LSAT-GPA-RETAKE-RETAKE-RETAKE.) NA URM status may also play a factor here.

Fee waivers don't necessarily mean anything. USC's might because they offer them specifically to people at/above their medians. UVA's waiver means nothing because they hand them out like candy. Northwestern via CRS.
Wisconsin doesn't do merit waivers by request or application, per admissions office. Unclear if they offer any via CRS, but given the low fee (56), it seems unlikely.
