I also received a $30 iTunes offer from UofAlabama.
Were you an October lsat taker? If so, when did you get Georgetown and WashU?

Yes, I sat this October. I got WashU yesterday and Georgetown this morning.

Never had an email like this, anyone get this? What does it mean?
Weird, probably means they thin you're a promising applicant and even though this email doesn't waive your fee or guarantee admission, they feel you would make a positive contribution to their school. Anyone's guess really though.
Lol I was kind of meaning of it's something they send everyone to increase their applicants and selectivity, or if it is genuine and sent to only people who have a shot
I wouldn't read anything into it FWIW. You know from your numbers and your app roughly how good of a shot you have. Scrying into the intent of these emails probably isn't worth the energy.

+1. FWIW, I received something similar last year and was WLed.

For places that typically have hidden waivers (such as NYU) would it be better to just not email them asking for a merit-based waiver? I know sometimes it won't show until you are ready to submit.

i received a similar email, but in the end, they said:“ Due to our belief in your potential, your application fee has been waived as well.”

i think you should email them and ask for it.

I solicited UVA a couple of days ago and then turn around today and get a CRS waiver from them today lol. Also since yesterday received Penn and WashSTL. Received the same troll Gtown email about how I'd be a great applicant but apparently not great enough for a fee waiver.

After I read the Gtown email, the "thug life" meme music starting going off in my head.

I went on a spree last night and emailed about ten schools for waivers. Politely told no by Harvard, Stanford, Berkeley, and Columbia. Now I feel a bit silly because some research told me that the first three only give need-based ones.

George Washington waived my fee based on merit and Northwestern told me that everyone who applies before a certain date will get one.

Thanks, I checked and that's exactly what they did.

Texas wrote me back and said no... no hidden waiver either. No response yet from UCLA or Cornell.

Hidden waiver from Columbia - I'm an international with no GPA, if that helps anyone. The only other non-solicited T14 waiver was from Penn. I've solicited Duke and UVA.

Any GPA-less internationals heard back from Chicago or NYU?
