Re: CLASS OF 2018 MEDIANS! (LSAT/GPA/Class Size)
I don't think any school is going to fall out of the T-14. Job prospects are just a lot more dire outside of it, but since LSAT is 0.125 of the USNews metric, I think Berkeley may drop a couple of spots, depending on how the other schools do, obviously.Fiddlesticks wrote:Berkeley increased class size, and lost just 1 LSAT point. Will Berkeley fall out of T14?!?
Seems like UVA may drop too, if they really did mess up their admissions this year like people have been saying. I don't know if the effects will be shown completely in next year's ranking though - I think employment prospects, e.g., lag by 2 years. So if they have a larger class, that might hurt their employment prospects in rankings two years in the future.

There is only one Greece, and it is Georgetown. Berkeley is at worst a Spain, and I think Michigan, if only because of his capital reserves, will be able to make significant improvements––they have already cut their class size significantly.snagglepuss wrote:The T14 is an unshakeable institution. It's like a closed version of the EU where the reputation of the whole is tarnished by the behavior of the lesser states, except it has three Greeces (Georgetown, Michigan, and Berkeley).

I don't think so. Although Penn has excellent big law plus federal clerkship placement, it is not as recession proof as the traditional T6 and does not place as well with the most elite firms.Kinky John wrote:I can predict with near certainty that CCCNNP will maybe be a thing, possibly.basedvulpes wrote:Better question: are Northwestern and Cornell about to rise like phoenixes?

Got a peak at Vandy c/o 18 numbers and the median dropped to a 166, 75% @ 168. Should probably wait to get that clarified when they post the numbers

For the few who care, heard rumor that Wake's class size dropped significantly. Haven't seen confirmation yet.

I appreciate more medians less banter. But if we could get changes eg (-1) (+.03) in the original post, that'd be great.

Also impressed duke held 166/169/170, especially since they were 168 median for a while before last year. Must be its sexy T8 status luring in 0Ls.

Texas Tech
Class Size: 183 (-44)
LSAT: 151/154/156 (0/0/-1)
GPA: 3.07/3.39/3.61 (-0.1/-.06/-.04)
Source: Me
This is where I put my yearly caveat that the "final" ABA numbers that are released in Spring will likely vary from what is reported now because the census date for ABA stats is in October and all law schools will have at least some attrition during this semester.

This link has the Official LSAC stats going back to 2006. When I graduated from UT Law in 2004, our 75/25 was 165/160 (schools didn't report medians back then for some reason) compared to 168/163 last year. I think the median was 163-4 ish while I was there. (Tuition was also like $12,500. Damn.)
