Yeah, I had no idea what it meant to control for a variable, thank you so much rambozo for explaining that to me. The criteria that I stated were not controls in the study.
As to "the person clearly didn't understand what was being claimed here"
How would you know whether or not I know what is being claimed? The claim is obvious as it's the center of our current discussion. Quit it with the hyperbole and false arrogance.
Your first statement and the "can't compare groups with similar grades" statement suggest you have no clue what multivariate analysis involves. Just stop before you make yourself look worse.
I'll leave it alone as well.

They didn't suggest that at all. My statements were not taking into account the variables used in the study. I stated that the methodology of the study was unfounded because it in fact did not take into account necessary variables that would factor into the equation. It only took into account such things as socioeconomic background and race. In no way is that me suggesting I have no clue what multivariate analysis is. Keep continuing though, you're bound to be right eventually if you just keep saying it.

Yeah, that was before I read the article..
That actually corroborates well with what I just said anyway.
Keep going though.

So just to confirm, your defense is that you respond to things without reading them? Great quality in a future lawyer.

No, I was just responding to this bold, erroneous claim with a better, more reasonable claim.

Yes and your support was
one study that didn't control it's variables too well in the first place.

At which point you responded with apparent lack of understanding about how it was possible to make that sort of claim at all, and not just an assertion that the study didn't adequately support the claim?
Sorry, not buying it.

I responded initially to the claim
you made regarding the study that I hadn't yet read (which is pretty obvious if you read it). Then, upon being informed about certain variables composed within the study, and then subsequently looking at it for myself, I supposed how it didn't consider necessary variables. You are going to get this eventually.

I applied with an Executive position on my resume and application
My PS was about an experience while serving in that Executive position
I was sent a personal note from the Dean in my acceptance mailing from a top-25 school that it was my fraternity involvement that was so impressive
I have outperformed my numbers
Just sayin

That made you feel special, didn't it?
I think they accomplished what they were going for.
Also, "outperforming" is all relative in this climate. Unless you were <25th in both uGPA and LSAT, I doubt you "outperformed" like you think you did.

You haven't outperformed anything. Schools are that desperate.
