Potentially, but at least your chances of getting in slightly increased! I'm really happy because I just went from being below Cornell's GPA median to being above it. Strange, I really hope you aren't trolling us.minnbills wrote:Sweet, I'm only about .2 from Cornell's GPA median!
Still a WL probs but it makes me feel better.
Yeah that would be so cold hearted...KevinP wrote:Potentially, but at least your chances of getting in slightly increased! It can happen. Cornell, for example, had for its entering class in 2010 a 168 median and a 168 75th percentile. I think most schools have a broader LSAT range though.avemundi wrote:Btw, is it normal for a school's median to be the same as its 75% number? Gawwdd, Penn, why'd you have to jump a number
Relax. There are only so many 171s to go around. I'd be willing to bet that within 10 students below the median the number is down to 170, and then it falls off quickly from there (to 166 at the 25th). If they are really at 166/171/171 and apps continue to decline, they could very easily end up back at 170 next year.avemundi wrote:Btw, is it normal for a school's median to be the same as its 75% number? Yeah but a median GPA of 3.8 is pretty impressive. I wonder how much of the class is made up of splitters and reverse splitters?Jack Smirks wrote:LOL @ their 25th.minnbills wrote:Minnesota just posted: 158-167-167
A very large part of it. Only way to get those kinds of numbers.minnbills wrote:Yeah but a median GPA of 3.8 is pretty impressive. I wonder how much of the class is made up of splitters and reverse splitters?Jack Smirks wrote:LOL @ their 25th.minnbills wrote:Minnesota just posted: 158-167-167

I think there might be, I remember hearing something about the legislature requiring a certian in-state presence to maintain funding. I do know in-staters have an advantage.Tiago Splitter wrote:They were 159 last year I believe. Is there any kind of in state quota?
I'm guessing you're going off the initial data Cornell released since Cornell initially posted a 168 for its 75th percentile but then revised it to a 169 and currently both the ABA profile and U.S. News reflect the 169 as the 75th percentile.Bildungsroman wrote:It can happen. Last year's entering class size was 260 which means the 245 is almost a 6% decrease. Also, massive lol @ the 158.minnbills wrote:Minnesota just posted:

EDIT: class size 245, not sure what it was last year

It is still too early to say in terms of enrollment, but the data released so far by schools indicates a significant drop in enrollment. As far as applicants, Fall 2010 had 87,500 applicants while Fall 2011 had 78,900 applicants, which is a 9.9% decrease. Interestingly enough, the number of LSATs administered went from 171,500 for 2009-2010 to 155,050 for 2010-2011, which is a 9.6% decrease.*Moomoo2u wrote:how big is the decrease in law school apps/enrollment?
