I'm not certain, but it seems like they were really friendly to splitters? Their median GPA is pretty damned high... especially in comparison.proteinshake wrote:pretty horrendous 25th GPA (3.48)BEng,MBA,FRM,JD(?) wrote:Uva

I suppose I have more of a chance haha. God damned grad classes, 20+ credit hour semesters, prelims [they're like midterms, but they can give you more than one], and them not giving A+ at my UG. Then again, my highest GPA was senior year when I actually took the 20+credit hour semesters and grad school classes

The median T14/T10 student probably attended a lower Ivy UG and majored in poli sci/English/history, so those who can score in the high 160s/low 170s ought to be able to cherry pick classes for a 3.7-3.9 GPA pretty easily.34iplaw wrote:I'm really surprised, TBH, at how high most law school UGPAs are [even for the t-14/t-10/etc.]

Yeah - I get that. I just suppose I underestimate how many people would go to UG with the intention to cherry pick easy classes to get into a law school.goldenbear2020 wrote:The median T14/T10 student probably attended a lower Ivy UG and majored in poli sci/English/history, so those who can score in the high 160s/low 170s ought to be able to cherry pick classes for a 3.7-3.9 GPA pretty easily.34iplaw wrote:I'm really surprised, TBH, at how high most law school UGPAs are [even for the t-14/t-10/etc.]

Re: CLASS OF 2019! MEDIANS (LSAT/GPA/CLASS SIZE)
I don't think that is the case. I think what it is, is that people who major in these subjects are very interested in the subject they're majoring in (it's not like they major in English and History for the money) and are already strong readers and writers, so they're going to get solid grades at the least.34iplaw wrote:Yeah - I get that. Spivey: say something insightful. There have been plenty of updates and you haven't made any observations. Tell me that things are looking good for the class of 2020. Lie if you have to.
By the way, did your friend's friend know if BC had any changes in GPA or 25th/75th LSAT?

I've been beholden to multiple law schools these past two weeks traveling and helping them out, so I may be brain dead on insightful comments, if I ever have even had them before.vcap180 wrote:Spivey: say something insightful. A few things though.
For data, you can go ahead and put in Vanderbilt at +1 LSAT. Just keep in mind please know I do not speak for any of my former schools, rather the +1 has just been widely circulated now and if all of the 1L's know it, not sure why the spreadsheet can't be updated.
As a practical matter, many school don't like to release all of their data because attrition can possibly change the data come October. It probably happens like that to a few schools a year. Which is why, if you were an admissions dean, you would wan to make sure you had a cushion to your medians
For this cycle, I've long predicated this cycle will likely be no worse or more difficult for people 165 and above.
http://blog.spiveyconsulting.com/predic ... ons-cycle/
and we discussed in this thread one of the reasons why that is.
Sept LSAT registrants are up, but my projection is that test-takers will likely be up below 165 and stable above. Obviously there will be some granular differences at each discreet LSAT score.
I hope this helps!

Pretty crazy how Vanderbilt upped their class size quite a bit and still increased their median LSAT
