For those who requested Michigan and the school responded with "you're eligible for a merit waiver, it should be available by Friday." Has anyone seen it available yet?

Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
Anyone else get a waiver from Vandy with a sub-165 LSAT (I know someone yesterday got one with a 164 and a 3.7 GPA)?
I want to hold off for a bit to see if I get one. I emailed them and I only got a canned response.
Also, anyone get one from BC with a 164 or lower?

I got that email and I got an email from Michigan today offering a waiver, but I also applied for a need-based waiver, so I don't know for what reason I got the waiver.hopefulundergrad wrote:For those who requested Michigan and the school responded with "you're eligible for a merit waiver, it should be available by Friday." BC requires you submit your application before you they will consider your fee waiver request. Have you?hypermeganet wrote:Also, anyone get one from BC with a 164 or lower?

From BC, after I emailed requesting a fee waiver. Even though I provided them the same information as I did other schools, I was told that I had to submit my application before my waiver would be considered.hypermeganet wrote:I've never heard that one before. Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
Quick question about fee waivers. I have some applications started already, and since they've been started, I received email fee waivers (example got WUSTL fee waiver today in email, but LSAC application had already been started).
In LSAC it still has the application fee. Is this going to disappear when I "check out" and submit the app, or do i need to delete and restart the application?

When you submit the application usually there is a code, or I guess it is just waived then. You do not need to start another IDB.fl0w wrote:Quick question about fee waivers. BC only sent me this:
Dear Prospective Applicant:
This letter is in response to your request for a waiver of the $75.00 application fee. Fee waivers at Boston College Law School are based on one’s financial need. Therefore, we request that you submit a cover letter, along with your application, stating those reasons why you are applying for a fee waiver.
If you are presently a student at a college or university, please include your 2009/2010 award letter or a letter from your undergraduate Financial Aid advisor supporting this request. If you are not a current student, you are required to provide documentation (such as copy of recent tax return, pay stubs, etc.) supporting your request for a fee waiver.
We do not grant fee waivers to those who are reactivating a previous application, transfers/visitors or international applicants.
Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact the Admissions Office.

Note the text in bold. That is your application for admission, not your application for a fee waiver.hypermeganet wrote:BC only sent me this:

Yeah, but I don't want a need-based waiver. I doubt I'd qualify with my income, even though I don't make a ton. I'm certainly above the poverty line.

I just got the Notre Dame "apply here" email with no waiver. I was specifically told my stats were too low (in a pretty frank manner) when I emailed and asked for one.
I didn't realize ND had gotten so high and mighty so quickly.

Anyone who got one from W&M, did you get an email from Helen the adcom stating that she was excited to review your application?
Just wondering if it was a default email or maybe I'm special. Gosh I want to be special.
