I dont think its alphabetic. My friend got both today with a 175+ and his last name starts with a W

why can't all the schools just publish the ranges that they give fee waivers to? it would make this whole thing so much less stressful.

why are folks reporting waivers with the exact same lsat score and a similar gpa (within .1) but i am not getting them? does anyone actually have explanations?

Are you fully registered with CRS and filled out completely?

Do you need CRS completely filled out for some schools?

I didn't fill out the preferred states/clubs/coursework/setting..

It just says "Not Indicated"

I selected states though not the others you mention and have been receiving waivers.

I really want one from Columbia, but no luck yet. 3.61/172. I sent email requests for waivers to the schools ranked 9-20, but I felt iffy about "begging" from my "target" schools. If this list helps anyone for reference, I have waivers from:

Penn, Michigan, Northwestern, Virginia, Duke, Georgetown, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Boston U.

The feeling I get is that these schools were going to give me the waiver whether or not I requested it. Most of them just told me to sit tight and I should be receiving one automatically. Those are just of the schools I was planning to apply to regardless. Minnesota sent me a waiver too, so I might toss an application their way. The other waivers I've ignored include Houston, South Carolina, Tulsa, etc. etc.

If you apply to Pace for Spring 2010, they waive the fee.

Do snail mail waivers and flyers get sent only to your CRS registered permanent address? Are these only by request items or do they spam your mailbox?

EDIT: Also, did anyone here sign up for the $25 LSAC snail mail option or does that not make a difference for mailed waivers?

The only fee waiver I remember getting via snail-mail and not e-mail was Valparaiso. It went to the trash, but it did inspire me to look up this, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZiJWVoQvJM So I'd call it a win.

I've gotten fee waivers by US mail. But I think what usually happened was that it was a fee waiver that was hidden, then they send a letter telling me its in the system (if I didn't already know) and maybe with a viewbook.

Wisconsin might not give merit-based

Wisconsin will not hand out merit-based fee waivers.

It sucks that I won't have to pay for schools like Georgetown and Michigan but I'm gonna hafta shell out $56 for 'Sconnie.

Glad to know that Wisconsin at least has some integrity. Seems like a lot of schools -- errr, some schools -- feed the "we only give out need-based waivers" line to some of us, while making inexplicable exceptions for others.

I just got a letter from Cornell in the mail today. It is an actual waiver; the fee is automatically waived when you apply through LSAC. You can request reimbursement if you applied before receiving the waiver.
