Vandy told me they sent me the waiver and wouldn't give you one, even with your better numbers, because they felt sorry about my choke and thought you were too mean about it.Helmholtz wrote:I wish I could give it to you. I was going to apply there early in the app cycle, but eventually went for some other safeties that actually gave me waivers. I even e-mailed Vandy asking them if they could renew last year's waiver and they said no. Screw those guys.hypermeganet wrote:Damnit, I really want one. My guess is that Vandy jumps Texas in the next 5 years, haha... not only are their admissions standards slightly better, but so is their job placement in big markets like D.C., Atlanta, and increasingly, New York.Jericwithers wrote:They will never pass Texas; never!forza wrote:If you really want to go to Vandy or Emory, I'd suggest re-taking. Unless your GPA is a 4.0, then maybe you have an outside shot. Vandy and Emory are trying to move up in the ranks, meaning that they are pushing for LSAT/GPA scores near their 75%. This means a 169 at Vandy, e.g.lnz103 wrote:got vandy waiver just now, but feeling like crap after emory basically told me matter of factly that their median LSAT was now 166 and my 164 should either take a hike or retake in dec. I know LSP was wrong when it considered me an auto admit at Emory.. but I didn't know quite HOW wrong.
Plus, having visited both campuses/cities, I can definitively say I'd rather live in Nashville and Vandy's campus is 10x prettier. But that has no bearing on rankings, I know.

I think Austin rocks personally, but I don't think Vandy will be jumping UT anytime soon. UT is the only school outside the T14 that a lot of firms look at, the only school outside the T14 that produces a good number of legal professors, etc. If anything, UT will jump G-Town.

I emailed Colorado telling them my numbers (3.56/164), LSAC #, that I was going to have trouble affording all of the applications and that Colorado has long been one of my top choices and they emailed a fee waiver back instantly. (Seriously, by the time I went from sent-mail back to the Inbox it was there.) Try that.

Just got email waivers from Columbia, UCLA, & Vandy.
Columbia states "On the basis of your performance on the LSAT only, you have been identified as a prospective law school applicant who, on that criterion alone"
...It goes on to say that this fee waiver in no way signifies favorable treatment in the application process. Sad.

Wasn't someone just talking about how Vandy is THE SHIT and so hard to get into unless you have a 169? I mean I know fee waivers are no guarantee, but...lnz103 wrote:got vandy waiver just now, but feeling like crap after emory basically told me matter of factly that their median LSAT was now 166 and my 164 should either take a hike or retake in dec. And also, that's BS they didn't give you one. My LSAT is 165 and Emory responded with a fee waiver number for me. I hope Vandy gives me one, too.

Pre-accepted: "California School of Law," which appears to be online...
Email: Duke, Texas, UVA, Minnesota, Temple, Houston, Baylor, Cincinnati, Carolina, St. John's
Hidden: Georgetown, Penn
Question about Duke: I got a fee waiver, but was not offered priority track. Is it possible this is because my numbers are too high and they don't think I'll go? I'd love to be into a law school two weeks from now...
