I have to think Michigan or Gtown are going to drop.
I'm also interested in WUSTL with that huge class increase
Which is another thing I'm surprised about.. Ucla, USC, WUSTL, Duke all increasing in class size
I would say Georgetown, George Washington, and WUSTL are the most likely to drop. Georgetown with its huge class size, George Washington same and WUSTL going from 186 to 260-270? Something has got to give.

I'm curious what the mood is like among incoming and current students at schools like USC/UCLA/WUSTL where administrators and faculty are blatantly diluting the value of a degree that is already not close to worth the sticker cost.
If I had to guess, the expanding class sizes at these place are probably an attempt to remain revenue neutral while offering incoming students steep discounts on tuition so as to remain competitive in the rankings. Which is fine if you are an incoming student on a full-tuition scholarship but is a terrible result for pretty everyone else involved. I'd imagine there are some pretty salty sticker-paying 3Ls at these places right now.

They are just going back to their usual class sizes before the decline their last 1-2 years or so..UCLA/USC held their medians(USC went up quite a bit) though I doubt they can keep it up for next year. We shall see WUSTL though.Julius wrote:I'm curious what the mood is like among incoming and current students at schools like USC/UCLA/WUSTL where administrators and faculty are blatantly diluting the value of a degree that is already not close to worth the sticker cost.

That's sad that WUSTL is admitting about twice as many people as it's CSO can place in real, legitimate legal jobs again...scottidsntknow wrote: All I've got so far are whispers from SBA that WUSTL's class size is 260-270.

Regardless if they are holding medians, increasing class size is not a good idea ITEMikeJD wrote:They are just going back to their usual class sizes before the decline their last 1-2 years or so..UCLA/USC held their medians(USC went up quite a bit) though I doubt they can keep it up for next year. Increasing the # of JD grads won't cause an increase in the # of legal jobs. However the increased class size in t20 could just be counterbalancing decreased class sizes outside of it.

Don't know why they neglected to state the medians, but seeing as how info is lacking all around on the spreadsheet for Rutgers-Newark, it's better than nothing.
25%/75%LSAT : 153/159
25%/75%GPA : 3.05/3.55
Class size: 148 day + 42 evening = 190

Sorry if this is a stupid question guys, but are the GPA stats on the spreadsheet on the 4.0 scale or the 4.33 scale?

It's the GPA reported by LSAC.boris09 wrote:Sorry if this is a stupid question guys, but are the GPA stats on the spreadsheet on the 4.0 scale or the 4.33 scale?

So does that mean when schools post class profile's on their website indicating the 25/50/75 percentile GPA, then that as well is in a 4.0 scale?isuperserial wrote:It's the GPA reported by LSAC.boris09 wrote:Sorry if this is a stupid question guys, but are the GPA stats on the spreadsheet on the 4.0 scale or the 4.33 scale?
Sorry i'm just a little confused because the LSAC site (http://www.lsac.org/jd/applying-to-law- ... rade-table) says it converts to a 4.0 scale, but has 4.33 in it as an area of conversion. I'm Canadian, so when our schools have a 4.0 scale, the highest area of conversion is 4.0, not 4.33.

LSAC does grade out the general 4.0 scale, with an A being a 4.0, B being a 3.0, and so on. However, they assign a 4.33 for A+'s to colleges that award them, essentially making it that the highest possible GPA one can earn, if they got A+ in every class, is a 4.33. However, for the rest of us who haven't gone to colleges that award A+'s, the highest possible is a 4.0

No medians, but UNC's class size is 201 (drop from 238 last year). I can only assume this is an effort to keep medians.

Is it possible we see that for the majority of schools outside the T20?

I feel like so far we're only seeing the schools who did really well, and thus are really excited to report.
