A little past 4:11. Fuck it, it's now getting bumped at some point each day. No specific time.

Re: Toby Stock call
I have been complete since Jan. 9 and haven't received an email from Toby Stock about a phone interview. How are my chances looking in terms of actually getting into Harvard?

Re: Toby Stock call
The consensus seems to be that if you're a strong, but not auto-admit candidate, there's no reason to worry at this point. Unless everyone is trying to make Nip and me feel better.
I got a complete email yesterday. No phone call.
Don't know what your numbers are. But ours are here somewhere. I guess you could do a kind of comparison with ours, and also look at some of the people (Aries, Snap) who got the call.
Also, hourmund.com (sp.?) does a probability calculation that seems well-regarded around here.

Dude, you're a URM with strong numbers. Even if you weren't a URM, you'd have a shot.
Congrats, but... False modesty much?

Re: Toby Stock call
Wait you know I meant the first e-mail to set up the phone interview, right?
I guess this means I'm now complete.

You're in dawg, you're in.
They have not rejected anyone (ok maybe one or two) with 174+/3.9+ in years.
Good luck on TS2

Thanks, I guess I shouldn't be so cocky to think I can be THAT exceptional of an idiot on the phone.
I only got the e-mail; no phone call yet.
Also I didn't write a thesis.
You got in, right? (talking to brokendowncar, hope you get in too, nipple!)

Re: Toby Stock call
I did UD, with numbers quite similar to yours. My TS1 was very short and nothing special. I got the TS2 four days after the TS1.
I would bet lots of money on your getting a TS2 as well.

Re: Toby Stock call
Do you mind posting in gory detail how your TS1 went? Will he be all like "Yo, why didn't you write a thesis?"

Re: Toby Stock call
I can't answer that question exactly, because I did write a thesis

"Hey Brokendowncar, its TS. Do you have a little while to talk?"
"So what has been taking up your time lately?"
"Oh yeah, that is cool. Tell me about your research."
"Neat, Tell me about your summer job."
"What do you want to do with law?"
"IP maybe."
"You should probably keep your summer job instead." (He actually said something pretty close to this. I laughed, I don't think he did...)
"Do you have questions for me?"
"Not really."
"Ok, see ya"

Re: Toby Stock call
How long was it? People are all like mine was only 10 minutes and stuff but that seems pretty long to me...
Can I mention a 40 page research paper I wrote if he asks about a thesis or will that sound like I'm trying to weasel my way out?

Re: Toby Stock call
Mine was super short. Five minutes.
I think a 40 page research paper is a good topic. If you mentioned it on your resume in any form, expect him to ask you about it. LSD has a really good thread on the TS1 where several people typed out the details of their conversations. Most looked almost identical to mine.

Re: Toby Stock call
Hmmm now I have to try to remember the details of it. But the coolest part was that it was about a SCOTUS case and I ended up contacting the lawyer who argued the case in front the Court and it was cool. I didn't mention it on my resume though so maybe he won't even ask. I'll look for the LSD (ugh) thread, thanks.
