Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
Damn, pretty discouraging so far. Got my score off hold, new my GPA would hurt me (just shy of 3.1), but figured I would sent out the fee waiver hoping my LSAT could help out (170). So far been denied by Mich, cornell, Gtown, NYU (claim they don't give, pretty sure I've read that in the thread too), Berkeley (claim no merit)
CLS, NW, Chicago, and Penn told me to wait for CRS (so I'm assuming they are still doing this, despite my LSAT not being released when everyone else's was) and Duke emailed me back saying they forwarded to their guy. Fortunately at least Mich and Berkeley sent out need based apps, as did Cornell. Cornell / Gtown aren't the highest on my list so I wasn't too upset, and I know this isn't supposed to be indicative of cycles, but still. Didn't mention AA status or anything like that, figured it would be tacky as hell, but shit...I'm starting to think tacky > ~$1000 in App fees damnit.
Wish I could go back and punch freshmen / sophmore me in the neck.

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
Cornell and NYU fee waivers came snail mail yesterday. That means the only T14 (besides HYS) I have not received a CRS from is Columbia.
Has anyone received a CRS waiver from Columbia yet based off the October LSAT? If so, would you reply or PM with your stats and how/when you received notice? I am wondering whether I should wait another week or if I should just pay the $80.
Edit: Stats are 3.76/173/non-URM male

Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
Got Columbia last week. The email said it was based solely on my Oct. LSAT, not grades. My numbers are in my profile.
I am military too, and maybe they were able to discern because of my undergrad school.

Got one from Iowa today unsolicited by email. They make you send in a form, which I thought was weird.

I basically got a "no" from Tulane the first time I requested. Should I request again? It doesn't make sense to me. I'm above both medians.
Why must you tease me with your fee waivers, Tulane?!?

note: Only joking, do not kill anyone -- espescially a professor. The bump is only minor at Tulane.

Me too! I came online just to mention it. Kinda funny that I make fun of them and they send me a waiver. I'm not looking for a school in the South, but TBH I support their admission of convicted murderers.EMZE wrote:Tulane just arrived 15 seconds ago. As I was reading your post. With my shitty LSAT score, Iowa is actually a reach. I am thinking of applying just because of how many times they sent me a fee waiver. Honestly though, I am a NYC girl. Never been to the midwest. To say I have serious intentions of going to Iowa would not be true, but hey you never know.

Good. Someone else with distaste for the South. I was beginning to think I was the only one.Opie wrote:Me too! I came online just to mention it. Quinnipiac via e-mail.
Funny thing is they told me at the NY Forum they don't give merit waivers and I'm pretty sure it's the same guy that just e-mailed me the merit based waiver that told me that.

I would not go to Quinnipiac over UConn. I like them enough to where if they're the only place to accept me, I wouldn't mind going there. But obviously I would hope somewhere much better would have me.Killingly wrote:Why would you go to Quinnipiac over UConn? Also got the Quinnipiac waiver... Can't apply because whenever I hear the name it makes me think of "Quendelton State University" from all the College Humor vids...
