Haven't read the stuff before this but it's about NYC I think?

My career services advisor told me NYC is the second most grade selective market, after DC.

I'm not listening to her but like :|

Yeah, this is why it's always hard to take CSO advice seriously. I want to think they should be good at the jobs, but LJL at Stanford students having trouble w/ grades at NY firms.

I liked this thread more when we had people claiming that BC and UIUC were T-14 material.

This is random, but does anyone know how to get a hold of Belmont Law's 2014 numbers? I haven't seem them posted in this thread and the only thing I could find on the school's site is this misleading, self-published article that doesn't break down the numbers.

I ask because I'm trying to dissuade a close friend's sibling from attending Belmont over much better options. Having the numbers would be very helpful as my opinion alone hasn't done the trick.

Not sure where to find the hard data, but you could start by showing them this:

Their first graduating class is '14. That alone should be enough to scare someone off, but yeah, no previous years available.

tbh, I thought the FTLTBR number would be a good bit lower. Still bad though.

You know things are bad when a 43% employment rate is a positive surprise.

Excluding solos:

RNP: John Marshall (Atlanta) - BL+FC-1.1% (.7%), FTLTBR-36.8% (4.3%), FTLTBR (w/o LSF)-36.8% (4.3%)

Thank you MNbound (no idea how you found it!!!)

You might be able to get it by asking admissions. That said, we can parse something from the numbers on the website:

1. 78/119 are in bar required positions. That represents 65.5%.
2. Over all law schools in 2013, 91.5% of bar required jobs were full time/long term. This brings us to 60%.
3. Over all law schools in 2013, 3.6% of those FTLTBR jobs were solos, removing those brings us to 57.9%.

That might be a decent guesstimate of where they will end up.

They posted it here: http://www.belmont.edu/law/pdf/Class201 ... atsABA.pdf

UNR: Belmont - BL+FC-4%, FTLTBR-61%, FTLTBR (w/o LSF)-61%

That actually isn't half bad for a school that just opened in an already tough legal market (Nashville specifically).

52: Temple - BL+FC-21.7% (7.1%), FTLTBR-60.5% (1.5%), FTLTBR (w/o LSF)-60.1% (1.5%)

All but CUNY have reported now.

Is there any significance to the 501+ numbers vs 101+? Here are 501+ combined with Federal Clerks for the T14 (differences are from 101+):

1. Chicago 70.47% (-5.24%)
2. Columbia 66.88% (-11.97%)
3. Stanford 66.31% (-8.56%)
4. Penn 64.74% (-13.34%)
5. Cornell 61.78% (-12.57%)
6. NYU 61.59% (-9.81%)
7. Harvard 60.07% (-11.09%)
8. Duke 56.75% (-13.48%)
9. Northwestern 55.67% (-9.28%)
10. Virginia 55.59% (-12.03%)
11. Yale 54.78% (-5.65%)
12. Berkeley 52.96% (-9.41%)
13. Michigan 44.87% (-9.98%)
14. Georgetown 37.06% (-11.34%)

Ranked by biggest difference:

1. Duke 56.75% (-13.48%)
2. Penn 64.74% (-13.34%)
3. Cornell 61.78% (-12.57%)
4. Virginia 55.59% (-12.03%)
5. Columbia 66.88% (-11.97%)
6. Georgetown 37.06% (-11.34%)
7. Harvard 60.07% (-11.09%)
8. Michigan 44.87% (-9.98%)
9. NYU 61.59% (-9.81%)
10. Berkeley 52.96% (-9.41%)
11. Northwestern 55.67% (-9.28%)
12. Stanford 66.31% (-8.56%)
13. Yale 54.78% (-5.65%)
14. Chicago 70.47% (-5.24%)

A bigger firm seems like it might be more stable, but based on what you all have said I think that if 501+ firms were preferable, Michigan and G'town would have shown a bigger effect. Really it kind of seems to be random and of no significance. Is that accurate?

I guess it would just skew more towards NYC biglaw where the biggest firms are

i would compare 250+ to 100+, not 500+ to 100+. there are a ton of terrific firms in the 251-500 category that lots of students in the T14 head to.

UIUC should not be ranked at 44 or whatever it is.

Not a T14, but not ~40+ either.
