T14 medians are up about 2.5 points on average from the early '90s but the average T1 median hasn't even budged.
How do the T14 75/25 numbers look compared to the early 90s? I would guess the 25% has dropped, meaning more median gaming is going on but the overall class credentials have dropped. Did any T-14's have 25% LSAT numbers as low as 162 back then?

This s just a hunch, I have not done an analysis.
In 1993 UVA had a median of 164 and Northwestern had a median of 163, so the 25ths were almost certainly that low (although I've never seen them). Berkeley and Duke both had 25ths of 162 as of 2003.

AFAIK median gaming only really became a thing in about 2004 or 2005, but T14 medians had been rising since the '90s regardless. Also remember that half of the T14 doesn't game medians and a whole bunch of T1 schools do, so it wouldn't suffice to explain the increasing gap. Median gaming has much less to do with that than the implementation of the USNWR rankings.

Retakers/reporting highest LSAT score.

Also I'm having deja vu regarding this discussion.

Probably because you were involved in this thread.

Where I noted:
Between c/o 2009 (old reporting system) and c/0 2010 (new system), average median LSAT at the T14 rose 0.43 points--not a big factor in comparison to the much larger rise that occurred naturally as a result of other factors. Median LSAT had long been rising at the T14 well before the new reporting policy.

will decreasing medians and a sink in the rankings affect how employers see my school? (BC)

Probably has to do with the increasing pay gap between Biglaw and shitlaw, and the fact that you needed a T14 degree for Biglaw. More top applicants were, instead of saying "screw that private expensive school on the East Coast, I'm going to State U.," saying "I need to attend this place to get a high-paying job." Before the 90's, Biglaw only paid marginally higher than the average law job, so most people weren't that motivated to move across the country to get it.

Thus, though they weren't median-gaming by enticing splitters with scholarships, they were likely getting a lot more people with top numbers to apply, and therefore could be more selective.

Just trying to understand the statement on transfers and how they are counted. Does this mean the school admits people to an LLM program (and then does not count their LSAT or GPA because they are LLMs), and then transfers them to the JD program, where their LSAT and GPA are again not counted because now they are transfers? Is that a new loophole? http://www.law.miami.edu/international- ... rogram.php

It's nice to see a school cut its class size in favor of preserving its medians. Hastings what up?
