Re: 2013-2014 Fee Waivers Rolling In
I solicited NYU and was told that "A review for a merit-based application fee waiver is not currently offered upon request." But they didn't exclude the possibility of an unsolicited fee waiver, and essentially said to keep checking my email for one.
I did receive waivers from UVA, Georgetown, and Northwestern today, which is a plus.
Has anyone received a waiver from NYU recently?

I am. I'm tired of having it sit there so I said, "fuck it" and applied. Need to focus on all my MBA apps and really wanted the law ones done.jingosaur wrote:I still haven't received a fee waiver (and I checked for a hidden one) from Columbia. I'm above both medians and my mom has 2 degrees from Columbia. What the hell?!?!? Anybody else in the same boat?

I could be wrong, but I don't think I've seen anyone post about Cornell waivers after the October exam. I only remember the waivers/emails from June.Marshmallow wrote:so only a few people got Cornell? should we expect more waivers to go out or is that it for Cornell for a long while?

There are a couple of posters on the previous page of this thread who seem to have gotten one after Oct. I guess it's possible they are sharing old news, but that's just not the impression I gotBajam wrote:I could be wrong, but I don't think I've seen anyone post about Cornell waivers after the October exam. Unless it's been incredibly silent, Cornell hasn't done its waive of CRS fee waiver emails. I think waivers come to different applicants here and there for several reasons (via solicitation or at an open house, for instance), but most of the T-14 have had a big round of waiver emails go out and that hasn't happened yet with Cornell, I think.Marshmallow wrote:There are a couple of posters on the previous page of this thread who seem to have gotten one after Oct. I didn't get an email about it, but Cornell gave me a hidden waiver, and the only LSAT I've taken was in October. So they did do a round of fee waivers after the Oct LSAT, although they might not have given them to a lot of people. (I'm above both of their 75%s if that means anything.)neprep wrote:Unless it's been incredibly silent, Cornell hasn't done its waive of CRS fee waiver emails. Just received Emory! Surprised top schools are still sending out unsolicited waivers. When do you guys think they'll stop emailing us waivers?
Last sentence of letter, from the Dean of Admissions, "I look forward to meeing you." Oh dear.

I was active on CRS last cycle, they won't stop until late summer -- especially from TTTs.gelato wrote:Just received Emory! Surprised top schools are still sending out unsolicited waivers. When do you guys think they'll stop emailing us waivers?

Yeah, that's the other thing; that "waive" of fee waivers might have been silent because the waiver is hidden.caiti wrote:

Relevant to thread: my SO (>Cornell's 75ths) recently received a hidden waiver with an October score. I haven't checked yet to see if I received one.
eta: I also received Cornell hidden.

Cornell hidden!
A Penn waiver would be awesome. If I get that one, then I'll have all the mid-low t14 that I'm applying to with no app fee.

Does UT send out merit-based waivers? Is it worth it to solicit?

Texas has given out unsolicited waivers. Doesn't hurt to solicit (anyone correct me if I'm wrong on this).Pishee77 wrote:Does UT send out merit-based waivers? Is it worth it to solicit?

I emailed soliciting and they responded with we don't give merit waivers. I received a merit waiver about 45 days later via CRSPishee77 wrote:Does UT send out merit-based waivers? Is it worth it to solicit?

Re: 2013-2014 Fee Waivers Rolling In
Can you ask for a merit based fee waiver before your lsdas gpa has been calculated? My lsdas gpa shouldn't be a surprise and my transcripts are taking forever to be processed. I want to apply ASAP and I don't know if a fee waiver will be granted without a lsdas gpa.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
