Re: 2009-2010 Fee Waiver Tracker Thread
Sept re-take w/ 162 and 3.5 UGPA; just got my FW from Cincinnati today. This time last year (after my first LSAT, Oct 08) I didn't get a single fee waiver and had a 0% chance at even T4's. Cinci passes out these FW like candy, but seeing a FW from a T2 after what I went through makes me ridiculously happy.
Good luck on your app cycles everyone!!

I got fee waivers from some schools when I applied last year. I retook the LSAT a month ago (and improved five points, w00t!). Should I expect fee waivers from the same schools this year, or should I start groveling?

All I can say is make sure you switched your CRS to this current cycle. I made the mistake of accidentally leaving it to the 08-09 cycle and was left wondering why I wasn't getting anything for the new cycle.johnstuartmill wrote:I got fee waivers from some schools when I applied last year. Does Duke give fee waivers to everyone? I just got one and my stats are 3.6/158 URM. I was shocked...just wondering if anyone could comment on why I received one.

Picked up the UVA/UCLA/Duke trio today like several other posters. And a couple of other lower ranked ones too that I ignored.

Same waivers today as everyone else listed; checked for hidden fee waiver from Texas and I was shocked to see it was there. Just got LSAT score Saturday, did I have this all-along or did it just come? Can anyone else check to see if they have one from Texas that didn't before Sept LSAT?

UVA/Duke/Cincy/South Carolina/Baylor for unsolicited ones today.
No UCLA (I was flat out told I don't qualify with a 164).

How do you 'check' for "hidden" fee waivers? Where do I go on the LSAC website to see if I have any?Jericwithers wrote:Same waivers today as everyone else listed; checked for hidden fee waiver from Texas and I was shocked to see it was there. So I have to complete my application before I can find out? That sucks.Helmholtz wrote:That question has been asked many, many times in this thread.Lady Heather wrote:How do you 'check' for "hidden" fee waivers? No, just press "Submit Application" - view it, then "Continue" and you'll see if it's been waived. Then "Return to Application" and continue working on it.Lady Heather wrote: So I have to complete my application before I can find out? That sucks.

Oh, and Georgetown fee waivers are out. Not emailed. Hidden. Stealthy. Unless it was there all along. :\

I sent something like 22 email fee waiver requests. Even if only a couple of them bite, it will be time well spent. I've already had some semi-decent ones come through (Baylor, Cincinnati) so hopefully more will come and my emailings will prove redundant.

Pleasant surprise when I looked for hidden fee waivers today--got them from UT and UCLA, two of my choices. Thanks to all those UCLA fee waiver people who posted their stats earlier today!

Same here, but to fewer schools. I sent fee waiver requests to all the schools I'm considering (except those who've already given me one) - I can't see how it would hurt.Notor wrote:I sent something like 22 email fee waiver requests. Nothing for me from Penn or Georgetown.
Any hope that they are comming? What stats pocket you those waivers?

173/3.99 here, but I'm not sure of the cut-off. Did you check for hidden CRS waivers?Jericwithers wrote:Nothing for me from Penn or Georgetown.Any hope that they are comming? What stats pocket you those waivers?

I'm sad! I love Texas and I just don't know why I wouldn't get the fee waiver. I have the numbers

Emailed Duke dropped my new LSAT score and asked if I can be considered PT when I send in my app at the end of the week. They didn't send me a fee waiver and responded with a mehhhh when I asked for one pre-Sept LSAT (I already had a 168).

+1 on Penn and Gtown. Thanks for the heads up, all.
As a 168 --> 173 Sept. retaker, and based on my unscientific observations of the previous Penn fee waiver round that sadly excluded me, it seems like 170 is their cutoff.
They sure are fast -- now if I only I was as fast writing their supplemental essays...
