Why hasn't Stanford released its numbers yet?

ASU's class grew a ton. No numbers yet though.
That increase is insane.
Right now in the AZ legal market we are gaining around 90 grads from UofA, 150 from ASU and last year 345 from Summit. If in 3 years Summit shuts down then ASUs class should turn out pretty good. Given their Bar exam scandal taking place I'd say their on borrowed time.

For now the AZ legal market isn't saturated to the level that others are. So ASU is filling a niche for us

The more surprising claim is that I've heard from a friend that ASU is claiming it's also their highest LSAT median/GPA median class ever.

Pretty sure it would save the law students if the ABA would just cull all law schools lower than rank 100. 40k grads for 20k jobs? Now 20k grads for 20k jobs.

Infilaw has been a cancer on our legal market.

When Summit opened as Phoenix School of Law it had a niche and a small class size geared towards PT/Evening courses for Paralegals and Insurance professionals to get law degrees and work their way up in their current jobs. Most students I know who went back then were usually employed by State Farm (an enormous employer in Phoenix).

ASU announced they were going to do evening PT a few years back and Summit lost their niche, then ASU & UofA started taking transfers from Summit taking away revenue so they increased tuition while taking everybody who applied. Now here we are...I HOPE it closes. I sincerely do it would be a huge boon for both of our state law schools which are more than we need as it is. AZ can absorb the 300 graduates between them but an additional 345 from Summit saturates the low end of the market for those trying to get started.

Now ASU is moving across the street in a nicer building taking away the last niche Summit could claim, being the only law school physically present in the largest state capital in the US. Summit's a goner as far as I'm concerned.

Not sure which of the 2bil+ schools in IL you're wondering ab, but UIUC's median:163/ 3.55 ??

2015:
LSAT: 158/163/165
GPA: 3.23/3.55/3.73

43% (acceptance rate
, couldn't find numbers on class size, but I believe it's 170-180)

ETA:

Sorry, I found this info on LSN's page, and when i went to the school pg i saw the same #'s at first glance, but when i just double checked on the school's page, it looks like they still haven't updated the info...so obvs LSN is going off old data...my bad, false alarm

ETA sources:

On the school page: https://www.law.illinois.edu/admissions/class-profiles
and also on LSN: http://illinois.lawschoolnumbers.com
Regarding what is posted on the website, I think that those are graduating class numbers, not entering class numbers. Otherwise why would there be 2016 and 2017 numbers alongside them?

I think that the numbers on LSN are of an older year as well since they are out of date for most schools that I have looked into. For example, they say that Boston College has a median LSAT of 164, which has not been the case since the fall 2013 entering class. I think the same logic applies here...

Not confused by anything you did, don't understand why they refuse to post the median.

That's not a good solution - there are certain tiny regionals, MT, WY, etc. that will never be top 100. But if the ABA basically required a certain employment figure, so no more than 10% unemployed 9 months after graduation and put schools on "probation" if they couldn't manage that, and then withdrew accreditation if they failed to get under 10% unemployment, I think that'd have the best effect. First you'd cut out the utter trash like Phoenix, or Arizona Summit, or whatever they're calling themselves now, as well as Cooley, but you'd also force schools to cut down on their admission numbers. There are a lot of schools which are actually pretty good (ok, let's say decent or "adequate" even if barely - my point is simply they shouldn't be shut down), especially small regionals (WY, MT, ME), but they're basically in a small and saturated legal market. They've been trying to keep their numbers up so that their schools stay relevant, but the simple fact is that they need to cut down on the number of lawyers they're cranking out to get the unemployment figures to be more reasonable.

No medians--but a friend at an admissions fair was given the following info from ASU rep:

Entering class
225 (apparently they have 8 "advanced standing" JDs)
GPA: 3.38 (+.01)/??/3.80 (+0.02)
LSAT: 158 (+1)/??/163 (0)

This was "as of" orientation they told him.

Suffolk is legitimate TTT. They recently had a huge improvement wherein "only" 18.7% of grads were unemployed 9 months after graduation. Might improvement over their previous year's 30.7%. 18.7% unemployment is actually the lowest they've had in five years.

I have no doubt that the school has it issues, but unlike other schools in its range it appears to be attempting to raise the bar from where it had been.

OK, fair enough. I just have such an incredibly low opinion of that school. For years it's just been trying to milk money out of applicants without offering legitimate prospects. I'm one here that would defend many schools outside of the top 100 because they're not doing that - and yes, it is at least a good thing that Suffolk is tightening its belt and raising its standards.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
