I got invited to the priority track Monday. My stats seemed pretty borderline to get into Duke(3.55,171) in general, and I initially thought it was just another phrase for fee waiver. Does this really mean auto-admit? that would be so so sick to already have one guaranteed acceptance.

There's this really cool website, called lawschoolnumbers.com . You all have probably heard of it by now. If you refer to the stats, only 1 person so far has been placed on priority reserve, and none have been rejected. When cross-referenced with anecdotal data here on TLS, it seems to be more or less corroborated. Bottom line is that PT invites are about as close to auto-admit as you'll get in the realm of law schools.

Does anyone know how the process works at Duke? Does Bill Hoye read all the PT apps? Or is it done through committee?

Fuck.

don't worry about this. I heard that if you murdered someone freshman year but haven't murdered anyone since Duke will look strongly at this upward trend.
This applies doubly for rape allegations. Especially if you play lacrosse.
This made me lol

I imagine even if we do get PT invite, we should still write a "Why Duke," no?

GP, I would just write them for a waiver and PT. I got a waiver unsolicited, and then asked for PT was as put on it (3.9 - 173 ish) so you should be set. Just ask for PT and then I'm sure Dean Hoye will throw a waiver at you (if they haven't already).

Yeah so I got a priority track/fee waiver on 10/19. 171/3.16, but nobody knew about the 3.16 at the time. I'm going out on a limb and saying I am NOT an auto-admit, according to LSN I am an auto-waitlist.

So has anyone who got the PT invite submitted the app yet? I sent mine in on 10/19, it was complete by 10/21, and obviously the ten days are up at this point. It has said "File under review" the whole time... I'm just wondering if "ten days" was serious or if I should expect to wait another week or more.
Anyone else in this position?

The CW now is 10 business days, aka up to 2 weeks.

I know that. I was just wondering if I should really expect to hear today or if it would be less exact, like sometime next week.

The business days answer makes sense, thanks.

What are my odds of eventually getting Priority Track at a 3.5/173?

Of getting an invite? I have virtually the exact same numbers and they gave me a fee waiver, but not an invite, even after I specifically requested it (note: my GPA is just a smidgen below a 3.5, but certainly not significantly so).

I have similar numbers and was admitted PT in mid-september.

So Duke received my app Oct. 23rd...I'm going crazy checking the status update for decision rendered...do any of you know if it should be 10 working days from oct. 23rd? or 10 working days since they started reviewing the application?

Thanks!

It could be as long as ten business days. However, you should continue neurotically checking your status checker, as I heard back in 21.3 hours.

Well, I got a hold, with a nice personal message from Bill Hoye.

Makes me insecure about my other apps. :(

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
