UVa was 358 2 years ago, so that's a 14.5 percent drop over 2 years.

This is surprising to me. UVa from 358 to 307 in two years. Meanwhile, Duke from 208 to 222 in the same time period. Wonder if it's all a function of scholarship money or something else involved

Good to see UCLA/USC filling that large legal employment demand in California.

Yeah I know what you mean, they shouldn't be increasing class sizes given the super crowded cali market.. But other schools outside top 20 will get crushed so total amount of people flooding the market will be a lot lower.

So every t20 that has released medians has held

UVA, Berkeley, Duke, Vandy,Ucla, USC

I have to think Michigan or Gtown are going to drop.

I'm also interested in WUSTL with that huge class increase

Which is another thing I'm surprised about.. Ucla, USC, WUSTL, Duke all increasing in class size

I would be surprised if Michigan dropped a point again this year.

All I've got so far are whispers from SBA that WUSTL's class size is 260-270.

This article may explain how the t-14 are all holding:
http://www.slate.com/blogs/moneybox/201 ... lying.html

Just a different market at the top--the pain is really going to be felt in that 156-164 range it seems.

FYI, the 2016 spreadsheet is copied exactly onto the second sheet of the 2017 spreadsheet! So no need the link that one

Is it a case of top schools throwing out more scholarship money than they used to in order to hold medians?

It's important to realize that while some schools are holding medians, they are still down significantly from several years ago.

This.

I remember when I first applied in 2011 vandy, USC and ucla was all 167, and I don't think there was a t14 under 170.

Right--but this explains why people aren't seeing another drop this year at the top despite continued drops in applications overall...

Still plenty of t14s to go.. I'm sure at least one or two will drop, and I bet a couple t20s drop too

Weren't applications up for people that scored 170 by a decent amount? I would imagine the higher up in the rankings you go this year, the better results that school will have. This year was the opposite of the year before in which elite scorers were down but everything else was up. It is certainly possible G Town and Michigan see a drop, but it seems like the T20 on down are the schools vulnerable to being absolutely crushed.

I guess the new law building was enticing enough to many.

I would say Georgetown, George Washington, and WUSTL are the most likely to drop. Georgetown with its huge class size, George Washington same and WUSTL going from 186 to 260-270? Something has got to give.

yeah, I'd agree those schools are definitely the ones in danger. Also wondering how UMN will do after last year's drop.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
