LOL @ the plethora of English and Humanities majors. I guess that's obviously a smart decision GPA wise. While yall were studying the concepts and differences of philosphies, I was taking calculus my freshmen year.

I took calculus in 10th grade. I can't believe you can get a college degree without taking it. But it's nice that people get to pick majors. Where/when I came from, they decide it for you.mez06 wrote:LOL @ the plethora of English and Humanities majors. I guess that's obviously a smart decision GPA wise. I don't think calc should be required, but several courses of algebra and statistics definitely should be required. Most people never need to know calc but everyone should understand stats and probability.r6_philly wrote:I took calculus in 10th grade. I can't believe you can get a college degree without taking it. Calculus is irrelevant to 99% of the working population. Why would anyone care if someone has taken it or not? (this coming from someone who has taken calculus in high school and college)r6_philly wrote:I took calculus in 10th grade. I can't believe you can get a college degree without taking it. Re: Curiosity Poll - What was your undergraduate major?
I think part of the reason its seen as a poor major is that CJ major have the lowest LSAT average of any Major 146 (http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm? ... id=1430654) thus due to lower LSAT scores fewer CJ major will be in Law school. However if you have a strong GPA and LSAT CJ major shouldn't hurt youDesert Fox wrote:Yea. Hey, I'm all about trade schools and vocational learning. Forget this comprehensive, renaissance education BS. It's just an excuse for kids to delay finding a job/figuring out what they want to do with themselves for 4 years while they blow their parents' money. People should seek training in what they want to do; everything else taught in college can be read in a book anyway.r6_philly wrote:sundevil77 wrote:

BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed my college experience.

I think there is just a stigma that CJ is for retards. Which tbf it is. LSAT will wash away that shame though.serdog wrote:I think part of the reason its seen as a poor major is that CJ major have the lowest LSAT average of any Major 146 (http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm? ... id=1430654) thus due to lower LSAT scores fewer CJ major will be in Law school. I get that all the time. I'm hoping that the three will make me as IPSecure as a more advanced degree would. I also wish major choice was a bigger softannyong wrote:Good. grief.chem wrote:Triple of of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, and Biochemistry

Re: Curiosity Poll - What was your undergraduate major?
where my anthropologists at?!
i checked both other (humanities) and other (hard science), which is something i suspect only other students of anthro will understand.
i also vehemently point out that i have a (basically worthless) minor in italian, since thats what all of my actual work went towards during undergrad.
