Still holding out for Cornell and Berkeley. I assume that HYS don't send out fee waivers?

Do waivers go out like hotcakes every year? I can't be the only sub-170s scorer getting them in here.rftdd888 wrote:lots of unsolicited waivers for me in the last couple of days. i didn't see the university of chicago on there, and i received an unsolicited fee waiver 10/31. same for boston university 11/1.

Doesn't Michigan do snail mail with handwritten notes? I wouldn't expect anything from them until next week.isaiah1992 wrote:Anybody get a Michigan waiver after the October LSAT?

It doesn't seem like this is understood, but you can get reimbursed if a school offers you a waiver after you have applied. I've heard this anecdotally, and Cornell said they would do so explicitly when I e-mailed them about a fee waiver.

This is not always true; I've seen some schools explicitly say they don't give refunds. Try for the refund, but don't count on it.txpasley wrote:It doesn't seem like this is understood, but you can get reimbursed if a school offers you a waiver after you have applied. I have a 3.8 and a 167. Any reason I wouldn't have received any unsolicited fee waivers? Not high enough on the LSAT?

Should get some unsolicited with that score. Have you paid for and completed the CRS?outlawscr10 wrote:I have a 3.8 and a 167. Any reason I wouldn't have received any unsolicited fee waivers? Not high enough on the LSAT?
Also, those with Chicago waivers, what are your scores like? I got a Columbia hidden but no email for Chicago.

Some are e-mail some are hidden. Look up hidden waivers on this forum to find out how to see them. E-mail would be going to the same place you got our lsat score sent.outlawscr10 wrote:I have indeed. They're supposed to be emails or what? Nothing at all.

Not sure if it's been discussed upthread, but Leiter says "many schools inflate their 'selectivity' by giving fee waivers to applicants who have no chance of getting in." You would have gotten them even without that trick b/c your numbers are high, but I guess the claim is that some T14 schools send out waivers below their medians just to boost their denial rate.Otunga wrote: Do waivers go out like hotcakes every year? Are there any other fee waivers you can pick up off of their website, like Northwestern?
