From what I've heard, U Penn mass hands them out. I was actually told that they were literally one of the schools that handed them out to applicants just to make their numbers look better. Penn was mentioned specifically as a school that did so. However, I cannot attest to how they react to solicitation
They denied me when I solicited

.
They denied me and then I got a CRS waiver like a week later. *shrugs*
lol they denied me and I had a hidden CRS waiver literally three hours later. Some schools just deny all solicitations, I think.
And I think I'm giving UChi and NYU until tomorrow and then submitting. :/

Maybe they deny you and hide the waiver so that way they only get applicants who really want to apply - not just applicants who are using them for scholly. Not the worst idea, actually. Best of luck on your wait. I got Chicago after waiting a few days but no NYU.

I'm submitting my Columbia app without a waiver today
Does anyone think it's worth holding out until Monday for NYU or UMich fee waivers?

I am debating essentially the exact same thing... I think I am going to wait until Monday just out of hope.

Have you tried soliciting Michigan? They gave me one when I asked.

So I asked for a "need-based" fee waiver and they directed me to their form. But I'll try again and request a merit-based waiver.
Thanks!

Same! Also Penn came today. Columbia and Chicago are my only remaining holdouts. Such teases.

Did you check to see if you have a hidden waiver from Chicago? I found one this morning.
Michigan flat out rejected my "merit-based" request. ..guess I'm not applying there!

No hidden Chicago for me. Any chance they're going out in waves? Or should I just give up and submit?

Thanks! I haven't yet checked for hidden waivers, but that is reassuring. I didn't ask Michigan (not planning to apply there) so I can't compare notes with you on that one.

Well, at least they responded to you. I emailed last night and haven't heard anything.

No idea. Personally, I'd be inclined to wait another day since waivers are still rolling in as of today, and one extra day in the admission cycle probably won't mean too much.

Just wanted to post in here that NYU actually gave me a refund after I applied and got the fee waiver the next day. So you can probably be earlier with them.

Just got Columbia too. I'd basically been planning to wait until deadline to apply there so my retake score would be considered, since I figured my current numbers would get me auto-waitlisted, so uh. Thanks guys, appreciate the support! Still no Chicago, though, so it's time to bite that particular bullet

Yes - unfortunately fee waivers don't indicate admittance
