Re: C/O 2016 median lsat/gpa/class size
Not sure if someone posted Northwestern's medians yet, but I just picked up a handout from their admissions office with (regular, not accelerated) JD class of 2016 info:
Median LSAT: 169
Median GPA: 3.75
Class size: 177
Median LSAT: 169
Median GPA: 3.75
Class size: 177

Yeah, I think the problem is this is only counting traditional JD, not accelerated or JD/MBA.christobel wrote:http://www.law.northwestern.edu/admissi ... ofile.htmlBigZuck wrote:Class size fell by 80+?snapdragon25 wrote:Not sure if someone posted Northwestern's medians yet, but I just picked up a handout from their admissions office with (regular, not accelerated) JD class of 2016 info:

I think the class of 2015 had 207 people for the 3-year program

And I saw someone immediately change NU's 2015 class size to 207 on the spreadsheet.

According to their website, the 2015 3-year JD class was 207 students:BigZuck wrote:Class size fell by 80+?snapdragon25 wrote:Not sure if someone posted Northwestern's medians yet, but I just picked up a handout from their admissions office with (regular, not accelerated) JD class of 2016 info:

It seems like the 259 number that was in the google doc includes accelerated JD and JD-MBA students. This year's class with accelerated and JD-MBA included is 232. The class either went down from 207 to 177, or 259 to 232 depending on who you count as "class of 2016", so still pretty significant. They announced in March that they were going to decrease the class size, but I'm surprised they still couldn't hold that 170 median:
http://www.northwestern.edu/newscenter/ ... rket-.html
(PS. The 169/3.75 medians are just for those 177 people in the 3-year regular JD)

Do either of these count toward US News? I would think JD/MBA does, but I'm not sure about the AJD. If so, why release stats about just the 3-year JD program?midwest17 wrote: Yeah, I think the problem is this is only counting traditional JD, not accelerated or JD/MBA.

Yeah that was me, because the medians they posted on the website and in the handout for 2015 and 2016 only count the 3-year JD people, so I thought it made sense for the class size to just count the people those medians came from. If someone thinks it makes more sense to have the class sizes include all 3 groups, feel free to change it of course.Lavitz wrote:Huh, never realized that.christobel wrote: http://www.law.northwestern.edu/admissi ... ofile.html

I think the class size should be whichever one the medians reported to USNWR are based off of. But like JCougar, I'm not sure which number that is.snapdragon25 wrote:Yeah that was me, because the medians they posted on the website and in the handout for 2015 and 2016 only count the 3-year JD people, so I thought it made sense for the class size to just count the people those medians came from. What's the official reporting deadline for this data? Does anyone know offhand? I'm curious when all the numbers come out.

What kind of hints are you hearing? Looking like it will take a hit or will stay at about 165? I'm right at their high GPA median and just below the LSAT median, so I'm selfishly hoping they drop a point or two....kay2016 wrote:ScottRiqui wrote:Same here - I heard that UT is waiting until the end of the month. As is Bama. Btw. Lots of hints out but, definitiveness wont come until closer to the end according to admissions

I think they're required to report c/o 2016 numbers to the ABA as of October 5. But we won't know what those numbers are until the school itself releases it.Dolphine wrote:I dont think they're required to disclose until March.MarkinKansasCity wrote:What's the official reporting deadline for this data? That's a decrease of 40 from NU's class of 272 for C/O 2012. That's the smallest starting class since 2001, and an LSAT median not last seen since 2005: http://web.archive.org/web/201006042319 ... ns/profile.
