Does anyone know when Northwestern sent out fee waivers last year?

I think the earliest was late October.

Yeah, I emailed them and they responded saying they will offer up some merit waivers through LSAC CRS, but have not done so yet.

So now I have to consider if a late-october submission is worth (potentially) saving 100 dollars.

You would probably get one. I'm not sure how they are about reimbursing fees for apps before waivers, though.

Who wouldn't mark New York?
We get a choice of many states. I can't see how anyone picks that many states ahead of New York.

Just got my fee waiver package from USC... Finally. I was feeling left out. And I was SO not willing to shell out $60-$100 for a safety.

They don't (merit-based ones). They do need-based ones though in extreme hardship cases.

Quick question. I'm sure this will sound stupid and has probably been answered somewhere, so bear with me. If the LSAC application page says this school automatically waives the application fee, do I still need to fill out and submit that school's formal fee waiver request? Some of those forms are fairly involved... I mean, I have een out of college for some years and support myself financially - does te school really need to know the values of my mother's and my father's assets (Chicago-Kent's form, among others)?? I have been approved by LSAC and was just wondering how "automatic" the individual schools waiver process really is. Thanks!

Likely no.
That being said, you can get fee waivers without filling out forms.
Schools that don't charge such as Illinois (this year), Drexel, & Brooklyn Law ... should just be free.

Thanks for your reply... I know that UIUC, Loyola, etc. are just free (no charge). But for other schools, how do you get a fee waiver without filling out their forms? I have emailed a number of schools requesting a waiver, and they all send me a form asking for detailed financial information that I've already provided to LSAC.

Were you approved for an LSAC fee waiver, if so most schools will automatically approve you for a need based fee waiver.

Yes. Sorry if that wasn't clear in my original post. It still shows $60 or $100 or whatever as the school's fee when I enter the application. Will it say $0 at the end when I check out?

Honestly, I'm not sure, as the system this year is a bit different as last years system. But last year, if you had a fee waiver and went to the very last step before you actually checked out, it would tell you if the fee was waived or not.

Well, if you've taken the LSAT, likely some schools have emailed you or sent you packages telling you that they are giving you fee waivers. Other schools will have "hidden" CRS fee waivers that you wouldn't find out about until you checkout.

If you email schools about fee waivers: some might just give you them based on merit, telling you that its in the system or giving you a code to use at checkout, while others will not give merit waivers, and instead tell you that you can submit financial info if you want a need-based fee waiver.

Actually, they are one of the schools that gave me a fee waiver last year (from the LSAT last Dec) ... so as those fee waivers don't really "carry over" I emailed the 5 or so schools that I was in this situation with. They have not responded at all. I emailed them again, so we'll see what happens. I might have to call them or something. They don't seem to really have things together down there.
So, yea, one definitely exists for them.

i did, though, get a later email from the butts tech support team apologizing profusely for the error, so it's all good
