That sounds both reasonable and generous, which makes me wonder if it's true. Is there a mechanism in place for transferring to another school after 2L?Tiago Splitter wrote:Pretty sure law school debt gets wiped away if your school shuts down before you graduate so current students may be lucking into a miracle.swordking90 wrote:Oh dang...I feel sorry for all the TJ grads who may have to explain to future employers why they didn't complete their legal education because their law school defaulted and shut down...byronmullens wrote:I can't wait to see Thomas Jefferson's medians...looks like the school is like many of their grads...unable to payback their debt. /http://abovethelaw.com/2014/09/thomas-j ... perations/

Yeah, but it looks like you lose the forgiveness if you finish your JD anywhere else. So it's a good deal if you just want to take a loss on your legal education up to that point and go do something else with your life.Dirigo wrote: Believe it.

I don't think you have to repay the loans you took out for the closed school.ScottRiqui wrote:Yeah, but it looks like you lose the forgiveness if you finish your JD anywhere else. I guess it depends on what they mean by "program of study" though.Department of Education wrote:I transferred credits from a closed school and enrolled in a completely different program of study at a new school and completed the new program. Are the previous loans from the closed school dischargeable?
Yes, because the program of study at the new school is completely different than that of the closed school, for which the loans were intended.
I could be wrong. I should probably find out before I ED Thomas Jefferson, huh?

I literally just edited my prior post as you posted that. The correct choice is to take the money and run.

Agreed - if you find yourself in the position of having your TTT close out from underneath you, zeroing out your loans and doing something (anything) else with your life is probably TCR.Dirigo wrote:I literally just edited my prior post as you posted that. eh, state flagship, highest ranked in a nativist state (by far) and one of the cheapest law schools in America, not that surprising IMO. The place to go if you want to practice law in MS (and have ties, of course).swordking90 wrote:Woah pretty solid hold for a TTT...whitespider wrote:Mississippi Law

Mississippi College's medians, on the other hand, is really something to watch.

People from 18 other states decided to go here. Wtf is wrong with ppl. I'm sure there's somebody from Cali that wants to work in NYC but would love to go to school in the south for a few years enrolled.whitespider wrote:Mississippi Law

I'm sure this happens a lot. I know someone who grew up in New Mexico, went to undergrad in CA, and now goes to Charleston SoL. He is so excited to be a lawyer.should-i-do-it wrote:People from 18 other states decided to go here. Wtf is wrong with ppl. It's crazy how TJ can be so much in debt with no endowment and no parent school. Who are the idiots who lent all this money??

Are they running out of high LSAT/GPA people in the state of texas? No numbers from UT.

No.... your speculation is unwarranted as UT historically doesn't release early, nor do they really seem to care about any school other than themselves.xSOCALJDx wrote:Are they running out of high LSAT/GPA people in the state of texas? No numbers from UT.

Doesn't their shrinking class size warrant speculation to some degree that they are "running out" of high LSAT/GPA people?Attax wrote:No.... your speculation is unwarranted as UT historically doesn't release early, nor do they really seem to care about any school other than themselves.xSOCALJDx wrote:Are they running out of high LSAT/GPA people in the state of texas? I'm not saying their medians fell or anything. I just think if there were more applicants with better numbers ready to matriculate, the class size wouldn't have fallen.
Or maybe the 319 class last year was an accident and they didn't mean to enroll that large a class and purposely tried to correct it back down to 2015 levels.
All speculation, but speculation is all we have at this point.

It wasn't really a substantial drop though. Doesn't really help you predict what happened.Dirigo wrote:Doesn't their shrinking class size warrant speculation to some degree that they are "running out" of high LSAT/GPA people?Attax wrote:No.... your speculation is unwarranted as UT historically doesn't release early, nor do they really seem to care about any school other than themselves.xSOCALJDx wrote:Are they running out of high LSAT/GPA people in the state of texas?
