UPenn yesterday.
3.62/162 (URM, not sure if it matters in this context though)

Re: 2013-2014 Fee Waivers Rolling In
I got an email from UPenn yesterday saying something along the lines of "[y]our demonstrated talents and achievements make you an excellent candidate for law school." Is this considered a merit-based fee waiver? And does this mean I did well on my Oct 2013 LSAT? I haven't checked my score yet since I've been really busy with midterms this week and don't want a bad score to distract me.
Btw I didn't get any fee waivers in June, maybe this means I did better this time around?
3.82/169 (June) (Non-URM)

Holy shit guys, I just got an e-mail from Regent University Law School and I'm super pumped. Apparently I can do an accelerated JD in 2 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!! There isn't even an app fee!!! Forget HYS and the rest of the TTT14, Regent University just stole my heart.

I've gotten zero waivers (I delete emails from TTTs without even looking, so there may have been some there). I'm 3.9/175, so obviously competitive numbers. Am I unlucky, impatient or did I forget to check a box somewhere?

I've got numbers above yours on both counts and a similar story. Only real waivers I've gotten are from Penn, Duke, Cornell, and Texas (but I believe that one was because I'm a resident, not for merit).malleus discentium wrote:I've gotten zero waivers (I delete emails from TTTs without even looking, so there may have been some there). Make sure CRS is on - I turned mine on late and have to wait for this round of LSAT searches for schools like CCN to send any waivers.

Did you solicit those waivers? I know asking for them is a thing, but I'm reluctant to do that until I need to because it might, even a little, seem presumptuous.Instinctive wrote:I've got numbers above yours on both counts and a similar story. If not, how soon after your transcript/LSAT were in did you get them?

Are applicants given another look for fee waivers after a re-take? Let's say, hypothetically you're white, scored a 155 and have a 3.9 GPA. Obviously, you did not receive a waiver from Penn. But, you retake and this time get a 179. Did you already miss your chance for an unsolicited waiver, or do you have another shot?

With a 3.9 179 you are, no doubt, getting a fee waiverSeoulless wrote:Are applicants given another look for fee waivers after a re-take? How can one be sure his or her CRS is "turned on." I mean I purchased it, but is there something else I need to do.Instinctive wrote:I've got numbers above yours on both counts and a similar story. Re: 2013-2014 Fee Waivers Rolling In
So it's for sure not "one and done." Even if they ran through the system after your first LSAT and you didn't make the cut, you will get another shot after your next LSAT?
I guess my larger question is how does the system work? I'm assuming it's obviously automated and periodically scans for those with certain numbers and then automatically sends out the waivers.
Just wasn't sure how the system reads multiple LSATs.

This is relevant here:

Is it true that schools only get access to the new LSAT scores through CRS a week after they're released to students? I'm mainly asking when we can start to expect fee waivers.

I received a solicited waiver from UCLA about 10 minutes after I requested one. 3.7/169

Re: 2013-2014 Fee Waivers Rolling In
Question!
I'm a splitter, so I've had to ask for my waivers. I have a 3.2/172, so far I've asked for waivers from
- WUSTL (Online form)
- Northwestern (Online form)
- UCLA (waivered)
- UVA (waivered)
- Cornell (We'll be sending out waivers soon, if you qualify you'll get one)
- Georgetown (rejected)
Any suggestions for schools I should ask? I'm open to applying to all schools ranked between GW and UPenn (inclusive), so the more waivers the more $ I have to apply to reaches.

That IS weird. Soliciting may not be such a bad idea in that case. (Unless you -just- got your 171 two days ago? Then you should wait)paglababa wrote:wtf i dont understand why i have not gotten any t14 waivers with my 171/3.9 stats. I keep getting multiple emails from michigan state. I just got unsolicited a few minutes ago. It's a bit weird, since the Oct LSAT was my first, and Spivey is saying the schools don't have access to it yet.Seoulless wrote:I received a solicited waiver from UCLA about 10 minutes after I requested one. **stats deleted**

Not weird at all. As I said, you get them first (Monday) and then "few days/a week later LSAC releases them" so I imagine LSAC has released them. Enjoy the fee waivers they will roll in.

Ah, ok. I took your comment, in combination with Michigan State saying that LSAC would release them to schools "next monday" in an email this morning, to mean that the schools don't have the scores yet.MikeSpivey wrote:midwest17 wrote:I just got unsolicited a few minutes ago.
