Did anyone who took the LSAT last year (2010) get Columbia's fee waiver?

GW and Fordham don't do merit-based fee waivers. I solicited both.yoiav wrote:did anyone who took the lsat in june 2010 get columbia, george washington, fordham or cardozo?jungminnee wrote:yes, i took it Oct 2010icpb wrote:Did anyone who took the LSAT last year (2010) get Columbia's fee waiver?

I got my WUSTL A*Corps solicited waiver. It really annoys me when I get emails back from schools and they only cite what's on their website. It's like ya thanks but I did not ask what is on your website I asked about a general A*Corps waiver because you only mention TFA on your website ass.

Through this thread, I've come to the conclusion that "we don't give merit based fee waiver" may mean "you don't qualify for one but we want you to apply anyways and pay us". Just because one person received that response doesn't necessarily mean that you won't get a waiver. It seems to me that 170+ people should attempt to solicit waivers from everywhere they'd like to apply (except HYS).chem wrote:Same. I got an unsolicited GW merit fee waiver last week. I was shocked too because I've heard quite a bit on here that they don't give them out.

I got GW today - solicited. 3.8/169. Dec. 2010. I got Wash U solicited today as well.
I have everyone from Penn down to Minnesota except Berkeley, Cornell and USC. Cornell and USC both said they do it through CRS.
Many of them were me soliciting in reply to waivers I got last cycle (Penn, Virginia, Duke, NW, Minnesota).
I would love to to get CCN hidden but I haven't so far....they probably know they can get the $$$ out of me and still say no.

? GWU and Fordham are not T14.yoiav wrote:so how do people claim theyve swept the t14
The T14s that give merit-based fee waivers are:
Columbia
Chicago
NYU
Michigan
Penn
Virginia
Duke
Northwestern
Cornell
Georgetown
People who say they swept the T14 got all 10 of the above.

I have the same numbers and in the last week I've gotten Columbia, Chicago and NYU. So I'd say you still have a pretty good shot at getting waivers from there.lionelmessi wrote:I got GW today - solicited. 3.8/169. Dec. 2010. I got Wash U solicited today as well.

Just want to confirm I am reading this right ... you solicited GW for merit fee waiver and was granted one? I am with the others who believed they didn't give them out.lionelmessi wrote:I got GW today - solicited. 3.8/169. Dec. 2010. I got Wash U solicited today as well.

A few schools have been dishonest about giving merit waivers, I think the tally is: BU, BC, and now GW.so_fetch wrote:Just want to confirm I am reading this right ... you solicited GW for merit fee waiver and was granted one? Re: 2011-12 Cycle Fee Waiver Tracking
Yes, I solicited a couple weeks ago and got a response yesterday - even replied directly to my original e-mail, so it wasn't an unsolicited blast. Gave me a code to use. And they didn't give me one last cycle (I never asked either) so it wasn't me responding to their offer of fee waiver from last cycle.so_fetch wrote:Just want to confirm I am reading this right ... you solicited GW for merit fee waiver and was granted one? Apparently the schools say different things to different people at different times.

Yeah, the whole dishonesty thing doesn't reflect wel. BC made it right for me and sent me a merit waiver a week after telling me they didn't give them. BU didn't and I decided not to apply.
