Guys, if you attended one or more the lsac forum(s), you will get fee waivers. I even got on from UVA when my numbers are not even close because I attended the Houston forum. Schools are handling them out

Western NE by pony express.
The letter weirdly states that my stats "mirror" their current student pop, but I am well above their 75%. lsat/gpa. This kind of concerns me a little for some reason.

3.9+, 171. I would like to get fee waivers to as many of the t14 schools as I can. I have not gotten anything from these schools yet, but then again my LSAT score just came out today. Will they be sending this automatically in the next few days? My lsac profile is up to date.
Or should I request them? I plan on working on my applications this weekend.

I sent out about five requests tonight trying to get some bites from schools. Maybe we'll get some good ones unsolicited, but I just wanted mine out there in the event that I decide not to retake and send apps out ASAP (since they are done).paglababa wrote:3.9+, 171. Sweet! Write back once you get them. I want to send in my apps before Nov 15th. I'm still considering sitting again for the December test though, but if that happens, it will still not affect when I plan on getting my apps out.Otunga wrote:I sent out about five requests tonight trying to get some bites from schools. Solicited waiver from UVA.
Even with a retake looming in Dec, I think I'm applying to UVA on down ASAP. Generally speaking, I'd just like a more concrete rundown of how much more money people can get if they tell the school to consider their higher LSAT score in January.

Nice letter in the mail from Duke.
Uh, lame question. Do any of you *respond* to these waivers? (Like, with a thank you or anything? For the schools to which you intend to apply, at least?)

I started soliciting waiver fees last night. I received them so far from Michigan, Northwestern, UVA, George Washington, Ohio state and Cincinnati. You have better numbers than me FYIpaglababa wrote:Sweet! Write back once you get them. I want to send in my apps before Nov 15th. Thanks! Did you just use the generic admissions email on their websites? How did you word the request?jk148706 wrote:I started soliciting waiver fees last night. +1. I'd also like to know if you can leverage a higher december lsat score to ask for more money post January.Otunga wrote:Solicited waiver from UVA.

I just used the generic one posted on TLS somewhere. Basically gave them my gpa, lsat, and account number and asked if I qualified.paglababa wrote:

Only GULC has said no so far.

When should we expect to start getting fee waivers with good October scores? I'd prefer to get them unsolicited rather than solicited, but I obviously don't want to wait too long.

Naturally you'd rather have the school come to you than you going to them just to feel wanted, but I would probably give it a week (since scores just came out) and then start soliciting. After the June exam, the T14 took over a month to start giving out waivers, but I bet they'll be quicker after October since the cycle is well under way.Otunga wrote:Any reason for the preference?midwest17 wrote:When should we expect to start getting fee waivers with good October scores? Right. I see. If one really wants Duke, for example, then they'd probably be more confident in their admissions chances if they were given an unsolicited waiver. I doubt it means anything for admissions chances other than the school being more desperate, though.lastsamurai wrote:Naturally you'd rather have the school come to you than you going to them just to feel wanted, but I would probably give it a week (since scores just came out) and then start soliciting. My thinking is that there's a risk, however small, of coming across as rude for asking about it.Otunga wrote:Right. I see. This is probably just a silly personality quirk of mine, but since I'm still waiting on a LOR and polishing my essays, I think it makes sense to wait at least a little while.

You might as well wait, yeah. My apps are basically complete, so that's why I'm anxious to get them out.midwest17 wrote:My thinking is that there's a risk, however small, of coming across as rude for asking about it.

Did you get all of these via emails from the school? As in, they emailed you to let you know they have a fee waiver for you? I assume your LSAT is from June?Techsan23 wrote:Hey guys, USC told me that they are waiving the application fee for everyone applying November 1 - December 31st.

Yup, all of them except Michigan. I got Michigan via snail mail.
