Joining the club. Deferred yesterday. Asked when I could expect a decision, and they said by mid to late April.

I sent a pretty detailed LOCI, but it was fairly short since I'm no longer in school and don't have anything new to report. Got an email back saying it had been added to my file.francesfarmer wrote:Are people sending intense emails or can I just say "please continue to consider me kthnxbai"

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Hey guys! I'm a long-time lurker who just stopped by to try and lift a few spirits.
I have a 167 LSAT, no LSAC GPA (as I completed my undergraduate degree outside the US), and am not a URM, but I just got an acceptance from Cornell. I was incredibly shocked because I didn't think I had much to offer Cornell's class statistics. I do believe Cornell is holistic in its admission process, or I clearly would not have gotten in so quickly. I hope all of you hang in there because I'm sure a lot of you with much better numbers will be clear admits later in the cycle.
Good luck, everyone. Rooting for everyone here at TLS!

"O hai guyz with median LSATs and GPAs, I had a median LSAT and no GPA and they let me in. But they liked my softs so you're good. Toodles!"
Seriously though I think you guys are fine. Most of the admits will never attend in a million years, it's naive to think that the shintons and the whiteycakes of the world are even thinking of Cornell at this point. To be perfectly honest it wouldn't surprise me if Cornell had to pull a UT and accept some of their rejects at some point. Just gotta keep the faith.
*the exception to this as I see it is if they want to regain their 168 median and/or rise in the rankings and start throwing a bunch of money at the high number people ala UVA.

Oh dear. So sorry. I guess that wasn't received exactly how I intended it to be.
I was basically saying that my numbers are far less impressive than all of yours, so it is highly likely that you are all probably going to be admits too. Guess the timing was just bad.
Really am crossing my fingers for everyone.
*creeps quietly out in shame*

In other words, after the initial deposit deadlines for many schools. Cornell, I hope UT replaces you.dproduct wrote:get a gunelblufer wrote:And, this entire thread just ragequit...Paraflam wrote:Joining the club. Deferred yesterday. I secretly hope they review our apps as soon as they realize December scores are not the answer....

This, and I hope people who got into other schools will remove themselves soon. Ugh. Waiting until April (for me anyway) to get rejected will be demoralizing.iMisto wrote:I secretly hope they review our apps as soon as they realize December scores are not the answer....

Looking through last year's thread, it does look like some people heard earlier, but a lot didn't even get a status change till march/April and then some were placed on reserve.dproduct wrote:This, and I hope people who got into other schools will remove themselves soon. What are you all including in your LOCI? Is it basically a Why Cornell? Not sure what these things typically look like.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
