UCLA Epstein Program Statement

Post by angery16 » Sat Dec 28, 2019 10:02 pm

 Applying to UCLA, looking to apply for the Epstein Program. How is the essay supposed to read? I'm struggling to see it as a narrative essay prompt, but I've also heard not to use it like a job cover letter. Right now my essay is a lot like a cover letter. Starts with past experience, then what UCLA-specific courses and program work I'd like to do to compliment it, my future goals and concrete steps to take to reach them, and a summary of all that.

I do have about a year's worth of work in social justice, seven years work at low-income schools, and experience working for four nonprofits. Will the Epstein reviewers want that in my essay, or just to pick it up off my resume?

Thanks :D and happy New Years!
