No way this helps, and writing it would indicate a serious lack of discretion. I don't think a 5 point difference that far apart needs to be explained. Also, if having to wake up at 6 am 2 days before a test throws you off your game you need thicker skin.

Already did study, and I'm very happy with my score. And no need to be rude--I'm asking only because the experience was not just be "woken up." I was trapped in my room by a bookshelf that a person in a fit of a violent psychosis threw down after I tried to confront them (and just after that they tried to strangle another person in the house who tried to calm them). Sad guys can't just offer advice without being assholes.

Oh, I didn't realize all that. That is a good explanation for a lower score. It also would make for a strong personal statement.

Not to minimize what you went through OP but an addendum will not help you in this situation. What will help is the higher LSAT score you got when you retook. Don't worry about explaining a 5-point difference in scores.

Write about being on the leadership team of the student-run whatever if it would help your personal statement but don't use this to explain your first LSAT score.

Thank you! I agree, just needed more second opinions as I was getting mixed messages from mentors about writing an addenda. I really did not want to write about this either--as there doesn't seem to be any helpful way it could be framed.

Not trying to be rude. Was jokingly illustrating how bad of an idea it would be to write this addendum. Frankly 95% of LSAT addenda are dumb to begin with, because you're allowed to retake. Can do better? Prove it! This one however would be downright foolish to write, especially for a 5 point difference. I had a 12 pt difference in score and didn't write an addendum (and did fine). Let the numbers do the talking.
