Just to clarify: did you get a BFA in Piano Performance? And how far out of college are you, or are you K-JD? How dedicated have you been to the goal of being a professional musician?

I ask because, if your resume reflects that your life has been dedicated to playing piano, it will look strange if you don't address it in your personal statement. If it's more like a serious hobby, but you've demonstrated interest in a bunch of other area, that it's not so important.

Based on the info you've given, it seems like you should write a PS about piano and a (brief, no more than 1 page) DS about being a gay Mormon. I can't really give advice about seeming unfocused because you have two areas of legal interest. If you're right out of college, I don't think it makes much of a difference. If you are several years out of college (as I am) I think it's a little more important to have a relatively clear picture of your career goals and interests and such.
