3.5 isn't really addendum worthy especially if you have been out of school for years. Unless it was the difference between say a 4.0 and 3.5 due to your mother's illness, which it appears is not the case. Have you thought about writing about that for a PS? It may work as a DS, but I would have to see how it is drafted to better be able to tell, but it could definitely be a compelling PS if you have yet to figure out that one.

Yeah, 3.5 is borderline for an addendum. My GPA is 3.42 (been out of undergrad 7 years) and I wrote an addendum for T14 schools I applied to, but I was on the fence about it and, honestly, it was probably unnecessary. I think the short answer is, do it if you want to, but keep it short (one paragraph max).
