Reapplying. Use old Personal Statement?

Post by Danimals18 » Wed Sep 16, 2015 12:24 pm

Hello,

I will be reapplying this cycle. Can I use my old personal statement, or do I have to completely redo it?
On a related note, can I use the same "Why School X?" essays that I wrote the first time around, or should I redo those as well?

Thanks!

In terms of reapplying and using the same personally statement, it is suggested to draft another. The reason is you want your application to differ from the last application cycle. Granted, there are many reasons for reapplying, but always try to diversity, strengthen, and improve your application from the previous attempt because it may make all the difference.

If you feel that your personal statement is the strongest is can be, find other ways to strengthen your application by either increasing your GPA, acquiring other letters of recommendation, or increasing LSAT scores.
